About The Position

This role is responsible for promoting the safety culture of Agri-Service, advocating and exemplifying safe working habits, and following company safety policies. The Sales Representative will identify and call on customers and potential customers for new, used, or traded equipment within an assigned territory, maintaining quality calls to build positive customer relationships. The position requires developing and maintaining sales skills for premium-priced products and product knowledge on AGCO and Agri-Service offerings. The Sales Representative will identify customer needs, develop solutions using AGCO Equipment products and Agri-Service services, and work collaboratively with other departments. They will conduct product presentations, embrace integrity, quality, and responsiveness, and ensure up-to-date product knowledge. Communication of territory needs and concerns, completion of call reports, and understanding of financing options are also key. The role involves adhering to customer care and safety standards, working within the company's vision and values, and performing other duties as assigned. Overnight travel is rare.

Requirements

  • Demonstrated experience selling premium priced products.
  • Ability to develop and maintain product knowledge of AGCO and Agri-Service products.
  • Proven competence in the four pillars of a sales professional: personal discipline, relationship skills, strategic selling, and tactical selling.
  • Ability to assess customer needs and evaluate customer satisfaction.
  • Ability to quickly identify problems, approach work from a solutions-based focus, and develop creative solutions to complex issues.
  • Proficient in the use of Microsoft or other comparable systems.
  • Knowledge or ability to learn CDK, OneAGCO and other software systems as identified by the organization.
  • Proven skills in written and verbal communications, planning, organizing, leadership and interpersonal relationship building.
  • Ability to set and manage priorities.
  • Drive and maintain company vehicle.
  • Must be a self starter and able to work without supervision.
  • Consistent attendance.
  • Proof of high school diploma or General Education Degree (GED).
  • Proof of driver’s license and acceptable driving record required.
  • Must be able to communicate in English (speak, read, comprehend, write).

Nice To Haves

  • Farm equipment sales experience preferred.
  • Minimum of two (2) years’ sales experience of heavy equipment or farm equipment preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Promote the Safety Culture of Agri-Service, advocating and exemplifying safety and safe working habits.
  • Follow company safety policies and procedures on the jobsite and promote safe behavior with customers.
  • Maintain a clean company vehicle, perform required inspections, and complete necessary paperwork.
  • Safely demonstrate operation of equipment to potential customers.
  • Use correct tooling, perform tool inspections regularly, follow tool instructions, and clean as needed.
  • Perform JHA analysis of location and equipment, looking to eliminate or reduce potential hazards.
  • Identify potential safety concerns on all makes and types of equipment through walk-around inspections and report them to the supervisor and/or customer.
  • Identify and call on all customers and potential customers of AGCO for new, used or traded equipment within the assigned territory.
  • Maintain call quantity and quality to assure the development of a positive relationship with each customer.
  • Develop and maintain the sales skills necessary to sell a premium priced product.
  • Develop and maintain product knowledge on AGCO and Agri-Service products.
  • Identify customers’ needs and develop an effective solution with the use of AGCO Equipment products and Agri-Service services.
  • Work hand in hand with other departments within Agri-Service.
  • Conduct product presentations to customer groups.
  • Embrace integrity, quality and responsiveness to customer needs.
  • Ensure product knowledge of AGCO and Agri-Service offerings are up to date.
  • Communicate the needs and concerns of the territory and ensure resolution is found.
  • Complete call reports and ensure that the needs of our customers are communicated through-out the organization.
  • Understand and use offerings from AGCO Finance or other finance companies.
  • Adhere to all customer care standards.
  • Actively care for and advocate safety at Agri-Service.
  • Adhere to all applicable safety policies, procedures and standards.
  • May accomplish training and serve as a team member in support of Agri-Service’s strategic programs, projects, and initiatives.
  • Work within and promote corporate vision, mission, and values of the organization.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
