About The Position

This position serves as a technical consultant within the Orthopedics product portfolio, specializing in solutions for internal and external fixation to restore the function of injured body parts quickly and effectively. The role involves converting physicians and accounts through sales calls, providing on-call clinical case coverage in the operating room, and training surgeons on Smith+Nephew products via education and programs within the assigned territory. Collaboration with key podiatric and orthopedic surgeons, hospitals, OR staff, Sterile Processing Department (SPD), administration, clinicians, and researchers is essential. The role also requires cross-divisional work to increase awareness and adoption, and managing a 24/7 call rotation within the team.

Requirements

  • Bachelors degree or equivalent experience
  • Minimum (4) four years sales experience in medical device industry, specifically selling orthopedic products or as a EMS/Paramedic.
  • Proven track record selling/converting business at the surgeon or hospital level.
  • Experience leading/mentoring team members and new sales representatives.
  • All field sales professionals must successfully complete our credentialling process, which often includes COVID 19 vaccine management.

Nice To Haves

  • Preferred experience in the healthcare industry, specifically selling orthopedic products or as an EMT/Paramedic.
  • Resourceful consultants who will work relentlessly to become proficient in Extremities Orthopaedics.

Responsibilities

  • Act as a technical consultant in the Orthopedics product portfolio, specializing in solutions for internal and external fixation.
  • Convert physicians/accounts by making sales calls.
  • Provide on-call clinical case coverage in the operating room.
  • Train surgeons on Smith+Nephew products through education/programs in the territory.
  • Collaborate with key podiatric and orthopedic surgeons, hospitals, OR staff, Sterile Processing Department (SPD), administration, clinicians, and researchers.
  • Work cross-divisionally to increase awareness and adoption.
  • Manage a 24/7 call rotation within the team.
  • Develop an effective territory business plan to generate revenue and meet/exceed quota.
  • Provide first-class technical support to ensure product availability meets customer and patient needs.
  • Partner with Smith+Nephew Extremities, Reconstruction and Sports Medicine counterparts in the region to discover sales opportunities.
