About The Position

American Trailer Sales is seeking a Sales Representative to anchor our retail team. In this role, you will be the face of our retail store—managing the end-to-end customer experience, navigating complex sales and trade-in negotiations, and leveraging your industry expertise to consistently exceed monthly sales goals. This is a senior role where your strategic input, social media creativity, and relationship-building directly impact the branch’s bottom line. It offers a dynamic environment with a blend of desk-based digital strategy, social media creation, and active, hands-on yard work.

Requirements

  • Proven experience in industrial, automotive, or heavy equipment sales preferred.
  • A strong track record in high-ticket retail sales is a major plus.
  • Comfortable utilizing social media platforms (Facebook/Marketplace, Instagram, TikTok) for business growth, lead generation, and customer communication.
  • High School Diploma, GED, or equivalent practical/demonstrated field experience.
  • Ability to quickly master and maintain a deep, advanced understanding of all brand offerings and trailer industry trends.
  • Strong computer skills, including proficiency with Microsoft Office, POS systems, and visual/inventory management software.
  • Exceptional verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills with a proven knack for conflict resolution and customer service.
  • Ability to work on outdoor retail lots in all weather conditions.
  • Must be able to bend, stoop, twist, lift trailer components, and physically connect trailers to vehicles for movement.
  • Ability to work flexible schedules, including weekends, to meet retail peak hours.

Responsibilities

  • Own and exceed monthly sales goals while actively supporting and mentoring the broader retail sales team.
  • Confidently negotiate sales prices, discounts, and establish accurate trade-in values while maintaining established profit margins.
  • Manage and strengthen existing partnerships; strategically plan daily outreach to our current customer base to identify upsell and expansion opportunities.
  • Drive complementary revenue by actively promoting parts sales and service offerings.
  • Create, schedule, and publish engaging content across company social profiles, including Facebook, Instagram, and TikTok, to showcase new inventory and promotions.
  • Actively manage and list inventory on Facebook Marketplace; promptly respond to inquiries, comments, and direct messages (DMs) to convert social media traffic into foot traffic.
  • Keep the company website updated with accurate product listings and high-quality, appealing visuals of our trailer inventory.
  • Assist in ordering pre-sold and stock trailers from multiple sources; accurately track, manage, and execute orders.
  • Utilize our Point of Sales (POS) system for precise data entry, account maintenance, and order tracking to ensure flawless customer communication.
  • Assist with, manage, and communicate the delivery schedule to clients; train customers on safe operation and equipment maintenance upon delivery.
  • Ensure all licensing paperwork is completed accurately and efficiently, proactively resolving any compliance issues.
  • Take pride in the store’s aesthetic by keeping both internal and external showrooms pristine, organized, and welcoming.
  • Maintain seamless, clear communication across manufacturing teams, partnering dealers, and corporate leadership.
