About The Position

The Delivery Driver is responsible for safely and efficiently delivering products to customers, job sites, and other designated locations. This role plays an important part in the customer experience by ensuring deliveries are accurate, timely, damage-free, and handled with professionalism. The Delivery Driver also supports warehouse operations as needed, including loading, unloading, verifying orders, and assisting with delivery preparation.

Requirements

  • Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record.
  • Ability to lift and carry items up to 75+ lbs.
  • Excellent communication and time-management skills.
  • Customer-first attitude with a professional demeanor.
  • Strong attention to detail and ability to verify order accuracy.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • DOT Medical Certificate may be required based on assigned vehicle and driving duties; employee must be able to obtain and maintain any required certifications.

Nice To Haves

  • High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
  • Experience driving delivery trucks or larger vehicles preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Operate company vehicles safely and efficiently to complete timely deliveries.
  • Load and unload products, ensuring secure and damage-free handling.
  • Review and confirm delivery orders for accuracy prior to departure.
  • Obtain required signatures and delivery documentation.
  • Stay in regular communication with Dispatch regarding routing, delivery updates, and schedule changes.
  • Interact with customers, builders, contractors, and jobsite contacts courteously and professionally.
  • Provide delivery updates as needed and communicate any issues or concerns promptly.
  • Represent MLD professionally as a field-facing member of the team.
  • Perform daily pre- and post-trip vehicle inspections.
  • Report mechanical issues, safety concerns, incidents, or damage promptly to the Warehouse Manager.
  • Follow all traffic laws, company driving expectations, and internal safety policies.
  • Use proper equipment and safe handling practices when moving product.
  • Maintain accurate delivery records and report or resolve discrepancies.
  • Work with the warehouse team to verify orders before delivery.
  • Inspect products for visible damage and communicate issues before leaving the warehouse or jobsite when applicable.
  • Assist with warehouse tasks during downtime or between routes.
  • Support loading, staging, and delivery preparation as needed.
  • Perform other duties as assigned to support warehouse and delivery operations.
