About The Position

Ernst Concrete is seeking a personable, motivated, and organized Sales Representative to join their concrete sales team, also known as The Green Team. This role will be based in Troy, Ohio, and will serve the areas of Miami, Montgomery, Clark, Shelby, and Darke Counties. The primary focus will be on building and maintaining strong relationships with customers, identifying sales opportunities within the construction industry, and collaborating with the internal team to ensure excellent customer service. The position requires monitoring market conditions, product innovations, and competitors' activities, as well as proactively resolving customer issues and providing ongoing support.

Requirements

  • A high school degree, a post high school degree is preferred
  • A valid driver’s license
  • A background in construction and construction practices, preferably in ready-mix concrete, and/or concrete construction
  • Have a general background of local construction companies, especially concrete contractors
  • A background in sales or sales related responsibilities
  • Ability to maintain a high level of confidentiality and professionalism
  • Be initiative-taking, organized, and dedicated to following through on tasks and promises
  • Be meticulous, organized, ability to prioritize and meet deadlines
  • Be a proactive solution finder with effective communication skills
  • Be a great team member
  • Be proficient in computer skills using programs like Outlook, Excel, and Word
  • Candidates must be willing and able to undergo a pre-employment background check, MVR overview, physical/DOT and drug/alcohol testing. Ongoing compliance is required
  • Communicate with customers, employees, vendors, suppliers and the public in a diplomatic manner in various stressful and challenging situations

Responsibilities

  • Build and maintain strong relationships with potential oncoming customers and existing customers.
  • Monitor market conditions, product innovations, and competitors’ products and sales.
  • Identify and pursue potential sales opportunities within the construction industry.
  • Collaborate effectively with internal team members to ensure superb quality service for the customer.
  • Interact regularly with current customers to inquire about their upcoming jobs and any needs.
  • Communicate with customers to resolve problems and provide continuing support on a timely basis.
  • Perform all tasks within the Ernst safety requirements, policies, and guidelines as well as OSHA and state and federal regulatory requirements.
