About The Position

This position has the responsibility to develop relationships with new clients for Yellow Pages. Working as part of our National Upsell team, you will contribute to our success by implementing proven initiatives to grow revenues, as well as bring new ideas and innovative strategies to upsell our newly acquired customer base. The role is built around two complementary streams. The majority of your focus (90%) is upselling to newly acquired YP customers — identifying growth opportunities and expanding programs across a large, freshly onboarded customer pool. The remaining 10% is dedicated to building your own book of business: the accounts you personally upsell become yours to account manage, renew, and continue to grow over time, measured against an assignment net gain target. In short, you don't just close the upsell — you own the customer relationship that follows it. You will work closely with our Telesales team and Face-to-Face Account Managers to help facilitate a positive customer journey for our newly acquired customers, as well as for existing advertisers that we grow. You will not be working with an existing book of business but rather identifying new acquisition and growth opportunities from a large pool of newly acquired YP customers — and then nurturing, renewing, and expanding the accounts you bring in!

Requirements

  • Minimum 3-5 years of successful experience in sales and media advertising
  • Diploma/degree in Business, Marketing or Education an asset.
  • Working knowledge & aptitude to learn search engine marketing, optimization & social media advertising.
  • BILINGUALISM in French and English is required.
  • Detail-oriented, exceptional organizational skills and effective time management
  • Strong ability to work independently to manage and prioritize tasks to deliver desired outcomes.
  • Understanding and/or aptitude to learn CRM software. Previous Salesforce experience an asset.
  • Must live and work in Canada

Responsibilities

  • Strong understanding of and ability to create, demonstrate and deliver multi-media advertising solutions to small and medium businesses in Canada.
  • Ability to effectively build rapport and generate interest with customers via phone and web meetings.
  • Prospecting and upselling to newly acquired YP customers, making up the core (90%) of the role.
  • Account managing, renewing, and continuing to upsell the accounts you have personally upsold — building and growing your own book of business (10% of the role) against an assignment net gain target.
  • Completing needs assessments with new and existing customers and designing recommendations/proposals for them to achieve their individual business goals.
  • Owning the full customer lifecycle for accounts you bring in: from the initial upsell through renewal and ongoing growth, ensuring retention and net gain over time.
  • Represent YP professionally and enthusiastically both to internal and external customers.
  • Agility and flexibility to pivot between different priorities and initiatives, depending on our Go to Market strategies.
