About The Position

Spicers is a leading distributor of commercial print and business papers, specialty products, graphic solutions, sign & display equipment and materials, and packaging and facility supplies and equipment. The company is a fifth-generation family-owned business with its headquarters in Vaughan, Ontario, and 13 regional locations across Canada. These locations include custom manufacturing facilities, cash and carry locations, product showrooms, and equipment demo sites.

Requirements

  • Experience in the professional sales industry
  • An excellent understanding of the printing industry
  • Strong communication skills (both oral and written)
  • Proficient in using MS Office
  • Excellent attention to details
  • Self-directed and self-motivated
  • Ability to manage multiple projects and priorities
  • Ability to do cold calling on customers (outbound sales calls)
  • Ability to interact with walk-in customers

Nice To Haves

  • Completion of a bachelor’s degree or diploma in a related field considered an asset

Responsibilities

  • Conduct proactive outbound sales calls, focusing on lead generation, customer engagement, account growth, and driving revenue opportunities
  • Tele-market with respect to lead/sales generation and development, including identifying new prospects and re-engaging existing customers
  • Receive customer orders and inquiries by telephone, fax, or email and process orders in a professional and courteous manner
  • Receive, process, and adjust orders, and assist customers as required with the online GOSpicers site
  • Provide the highest level of service to customers, including product information, product substitutions, and recommendations to optimize purchasing efficiency
  • Receive customer complaints, research issues, and initiate corrective action to resolve problems
  • Keep Sales Consultants apprised of activities concerning established customers and communicate information on new customer concerns
  • Liaise with the Pricing Coordinator to ensure customer contracts are accurate and updated on a timely basis
  • Identify opportunities for mill support and margin improvement
  • Other duties as assigned
