Sales Planning Manager

Momofuku GoodsNew York, NY
$100,000 - $115,000Onsite

About The Position

Momofuku Goods aims to redefine the American pantry by giving home cooks restaurant-grade essentials that make cooking more fun, enjoyable, and delicious. Founded in 2020 by David Chang and the Momofuku team, Momofuku Goods carries forward the same principles that shaped our restaurants—challenging conventions and making the unfamiliar familiar. We believe in the power of food to bring people together and create more confidence, joy, and connection in the kitchen. This role is part of a redesigned commercial planning structure built for Momofuku Goods' next stage of growth. As the business scales, we are investing in a more disciplined, integrated planning model that connects commercial inputs, financial expectations, supply realities, and improved data infrastructure. We are separating enterprise systems and data governance from day-to-day commercial planning and analysis. The Sales Planning Manager will own forecast development and management, commercial planning analytics, management reporting and analysis, and cross-functional coordination across Sales, Finance, and Operations. Reporting to the VP, Insights & Revenue Growth Management (RGM), this person will play a critical role in strengthening Momofuku's planning capability and give the business a clearer, more reliable demand signal at every planning horizon. This is an individual contributor role for someone who owns the data, sets forecast assumptions, and drives planning recommendations with a high degree of independence — someone who is insights focused, detail-oriented, commercially curious, and comfortable operating in a fast-scaling CPG environment where the process is still being built.

Requirements

  • 4 to 6 years of progressive experience in forecast planning, sales planning, commercial analytics, supply chain finance, or a closely related analytical planning role, within CPG or food and beverage.
  • Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain, Business, Finance, Statistics, or a related field; or equivalent experience that demonstrates the same analytical foundation.
  • Hands-on forecasting experience: you have owned a forecast end to end, led forecast reviews, and understand what it means — and what to do about it — when bias or forecast accuracy moves in the wrong direction.
  • Advanced Excel/sheets and financial modeling skills, including pivot tables, advanced formulas, large data sets, imperfect source data, and model-building from scratch.
  • Experience working with retailer POS, syndicated data, or commercial performance data such as SPINS, Circana, Nielsen, customer portals, UNFI and KeHe distributor reporting.
  • Strong working knowledge of trade promotion mechanics and how promotions affect volume, revenue, and supply planning.
  • Hands-on experience with ERP, BI, TPM/TPO or planning tools such as NetSuite, SAP, Anaplan, Confido, Pecan, Exceedra, Tableau, Power BI, Looker, or similar platforms.
  • Proven ability to translate detailed analysis into a clear recommendation and present it directly to Sales, Finance, Operations, and senior leaders.
  • Exposure to natural, specialty, conventional grocery, mass, club, e-commerce, or distributor-based channels.
  • Proven comfort operating with a high degree of autonomy through ambiguity, and improving planning discipline in an environment where data sources and systems are evolving.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience owning or co-leading S&OP, IBP, MFR, or other recurring commercial planning processes.
  • Experience working at a high-growth, founder-led, or entrepreneurial CPG brand where the process is still being written.
  • Experience supporting trade planning, post-promotion analysis, customer planning, or annual operating plan development.
  • Experience presenting analysis and recommendations directly to senior leadership or board-level audiences.
  • MBA or other advanced degree in a related field.
  • Familiarity with the Momofuku Goods brand, philosophy, and internal systems.

  • Translate data into clear, actionable recommendations that shape decisions across the Commercial team on customers, channels, promotions, and innovation.
  • Lead executive-level reporting and scenario modeling in partnership with Finance, including budget variance analysis and forward-looking risk/opportunity framing.

  • Own trade-planning support by tracking promotional commitments, analyzing post-event performance, and assessing the impact of major account activity on the demand plan.
  • Drive visibility and accountability across functions so commercial plans are documented, understood, and connected to the broader operating plan.
