Sales Outfitter Camping - Part Time
About The Position
The Sales Outfitter performs selling and customer service activities, including greeting and acknowledging customers promptly and in a friendly manner, handling merchandise with care, and providing customers with information, assistance, and direction. The role supports a positive, productive shopping experience by helping customers make purchasing decisions and maintaining merchandise and the sales area. The position performs assigned duties under general supervision and established procedures, with occasional independent judgment to complete work and make recommendations about work procedures, policies, and practices. Other duties may be assigned.
Requirements
- High school education or equivalent experience.
- Ability to calculate figures such as discounts and provide correct change.
- Ability to communicate in a friendly and professional manner with customers and associates.
- Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with management, coworkers, and customers.
- Ability to operate a computerized Point of Sale register system.
- Ability to stand and/or walk throughout the shift.
- Ability to move objects weighing up to 20 pounds constantly and occasionally move or lift objects weighing up to 100 pounds or more with a team lift as needed.
Responsibilities
- Provide prompt, friendly customer service and help ensure a pleasant shopping experience.
- Demonstrate products and maintain product knowledge through ongoing training.
- Replenish and restock merchandise according to merchandising guidelines.
- Maintain awareness of advertised sales and maintain pricing and signage.
- Assist with seasonal floor merchandise moves.
- Keep the work area clean, neat, and stocked with supplies.
- Help customers make buying decisions by identifying and evaluating their needs and recommending products.
- Promote programs including CLUB Membership, VOC, and In-Store Pick-up.
- Follow company policies and procedures.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
