About The Position

The Sales and Operations Manager is responsible for the successful launch, growth, and day-to-day management of Olander's Anaheim location. This hands-on leadership role combines sales and business development, branch operations, customer relationship management, and team leadership. As the branch grows, the Sales & Operations Manager will recruit, develop, and lead a small team, including inside support staff and outside sales representatives, while ensuring efficient operations of this branch. This position is ideal for an entrepreneurial leader who thrives on launching a new location from the ground up. This role is approximately 60% sales, 20% operations, and 20% leadership (initially). As the branch grows, those percentages may shift.

Requirements

  • Five or more years of progressive experience in outside sales, operations management, branch management, or business development.
  • Previous leadership or supervisory experience.
  • Demonstrated success growing customer relationships and developing new business.
  • Strong financial, operational, and organizational skills.
  • Excellent communication and relationship-building abilities.
  • Ability to work independently and make sound business decisions.
  • Valid driver's license and ability to travel throughout Southern California.

Nice To Haves

  • Fastener, industrial distribution, manufacturing, or wholesale distribution experience.
  • Experience launching or managing a branch location.
  • Bachelor’s degree in business or related field.
  • CRM experience.
  • Microsoft Office proficiency.

Responsibilities

  • Develop and grow sales within the Southern California market through new business development and expansion of existing customer relationships.
  • Identify and pursue new business opportunities aligned with company objectives.
  • Meet or exceed annual sales and profitability goals.
  • Maintain relationships with key customers, vendors, and strategic partners.
  • Conduct customer visits, presentations, and product demonstrations with the outside sales team.
  • Collaborate with company leadership on sales strategies and growth initiatives.
  • Represent Olander at customer events, trade shows, and industry meetings.
  • Establish and oversee daily branch operations, ensuring efficient and accurate receiving, shipping, inventory control, and customer service.
  • Monitor branch performance, budgets, inventory, and expenses.
  • Ensure compliance with company policies, safety standards, and quality procedures.
  • Coordinate with Purchasing, Compliance, Accounting, and other departments to support customer needs.
  • Recruit, hire, train, coach, and develop branch employees as business growth requires.
  • Provide leadership, direction, and accountability for branch staff.
  • Conduct performance reviews, establish quarterly goals, and support employee development.
  • Foster a positive, collaborative culture aligned with Olander's Core Values.
  • Develop annual branch business plans and sales strategies.
  • Monitor market trends, competitors, and customer opportunities.
  • Recommend improvements to products, services, and operational processes.
  • Provide regular reports on sales performance, branch operations, and growth opportunities.
  • Maintain professionalism and exercise sound judgment in all interactions.
  • Perform other duties and responsibilities as assigned.
