Sales Operations Lead - Strategic Initiatives

Inductive Automation LLC
$80,000 - $80,000Remote

About The Position

The Sales Operations Lead - Strategic Initiatives leads execution of the highest-priority initiatives within Inductive Automation's verticalized go-to-market function. The role assists in running the operations behind the team's flagship industry events such as the Data Center Discovery Day and Solar + BESS Discovery Day, leads new vertical entry programs, runs the product input process, and builds the operational systems that scale the team's output. The role also owns the portfolio's reporting backbone: KPI dashboards, pipeline rollups, and the cadence of business reviews that the Head of Strategic Initiatives uses to manage and report against the function. This is a senior individual contributor role reporting directly to the Head of Strategic Initiatives, working in close partnership with the vertical Principals (Data Centers, Life Sciences, Solar & BESS). This is a full-time role that is remote based. However, domestic and international travel to customer sites, IA corporate, and the team's industry event circuit is required.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Operations Management, Marketing, Business Analytics, or related field
  • 5+ years of experience in revenue operations, sales operations, business operations, or strategy roles within B2B software, industrial software, or technology companies; experience in management consulting.
  • Demonstrated operational ownership of systems, KPI reporting infrastructure, and cross-functional programs in a prior role, beyond project coordination.
  • Strong analytical skills including advanced Excel/Sheets and working fluency with CRM (Salesforce or HubSpot) and BI tools (Tableau, Looker, Sigma, or equivalent); able to build dashboards and pipeline rollups without engineering support.
  • Experience producing or running operations for major industry events, executive briefings, or large customer-facing programs.
  • Experience managing cross-functional programs that span Sales, Marketing, Product, and Engineering.
  • Familiarity with industrial automation, OT, SCADA, or related industries sufficient to operate credibly in customer-facing and partner-facing settings; deep technical expertise not required.
  • Written and presentation skills sufficient to produce executive-ready materials independently.
  • Track record of operating as an independent senior IC: capable of running major workstreams without direct supervision, prioritizing across competing demands, and partnering with senior leaders as peers rather than support.
  • Remote based, willing to travel domestically and internationally to customer sites, IA corporate, and the team's industry event circuit.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience working with international businesses and bilingual in Spanish or other languages preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Running the operations behind the team's flagship industry events including Data Center Discovery Day and Solar + BESS Discovery Day: registration, speaker and sponsor logistics, attendee experience, and post-event surveys and analytics along with cross-departmental coordination with Events/PR and Marketing
  • Building the playbooks and templates that let new flagship events stand up quickly as the portfolio expands
  • Supporting new vertical entry: build the operating cadence and reporting infrastructure for the incoming Principal, set up event presence, and run operational ramp-up during the first 12 months
  • Running the product input process between the Principals and Product/Engineering: schedule and facilitate the cycle, track inputs through to commitment, status, and customer feedback close-out, and surface conflicts to the Head of Strategic Initiatives for resolution
  • Owning the function's reporting and dashboard infrastructure: portfolio pipeline rollups, vertical KPIs, deal velocity at the strategic-account tier, and the data feeds that populate the Head of Strategic Initiatives' executive reporting
  • Running the cadence of business reviews: weekly team operating reviews, quarterly business reviews, and the executive readouts that the Head of Strategic Initiatives delivers to the leadership team
  • Building the operational systems that scale the team's output: CRM hygiene for the strategic-account tier, asset libraries for the materials the Principals produce, knowledge management for the function's playbooks, and tooling decisions for project management and collaboration
  • Serving as the operational interface between the Strategic Initiatives team and the rest of Inductive Automation, including Sales leadership, Marketing, Product, Engineering, and Operations, for the programs and events the function runs
  • Supporting the Principals' and the Head of Strategic Initiatives' external presence: prep for analyst engagements, briefing materials for major customer and partner meetings, and operational coordination of speaking engagements across the industry event circuit
