Sales/Merchandise Associate
About The Position
The Sales/Merchandise Associate delivers a highly satisfied customer experience by engaging with customers, applying customer experience principles, and maintaining a clean and organized store. The role follows operational, merchandising, and loss-prevention standards and may involve cross-training in multiple store areas to support business needs. Associates contribute to a positive store culture and may perform other duties as assigned. The position requires customer service, communication, organizational, attention-to-detail, multitasking, and adaptability skills. Retail customer experience is preferred. Associates must be capable of lifting heavy objects, with or without reasonable accommodation, and able to work a flexible schedule to support business needs. Responsibilities
- Model established customer experience practices with internal and external customers.
- Support a positive store culture through honesty, integrity, and respect.
- Accurately ring customer purchases and returns and count change according to established procedures.
- Promote credit and loyalty programs.
- Maintain the merchandising philosophy and follow established merchandising procedures and standards.
- Process and prepare merchandise for the sales floor according to company procedures and standards.
- Initiate and participate in store recovery as needed throughout the day.
- Maintain organization, cleanliness, and recovery standards on the sales floor and help maintain cleanliness throughout the store.
- Provide and accept recognition and constructive feedback.
- Follow labor laws, policies, and procedures.
- Support and participate in store shrink-reduction goals and programs.
- Participate in safety awareness and maintain a safe environment.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
