About The Position

Whatnot is seeking a Sales Manager to lead, coach, and grow a frontline sales team driving seller acquisition and revenue growth. The company is already on a fast-track growth trajectory and this role is central to executing on that momentum — working closely with reps day-to-day, developing talent, and driving accountability across the sales cycle. Reporting to one of two Sales Directors, John Amici or Mischa Block. The Sales Manager will be responsible for building upon Whatnot's foundation and helping scale a high-performing team.

Requirements

  • 3+ years of sales experience, with at least 2 years in a sales management or team lead capacity
  • You have a passion for our mission at Whatnot — you live and breathe the needs of our communities and work relentlessly to improve their experiences on Whatnot
  • You have a history of exceeding sales goals in a high-volume outbound sales environment
  • Experience coaching and developing individual contributors to improve performance
  • Adaptability and resilience in a fast-paced, evolving startup environment
  • Proficiency in CRM systems and advanced sales analytics tools for tracking performance and creating reports
  • Expertise in sales automation tools to streamline workflows and improve team efficiency

Nice To Haves

  • Experience at a high-growth startup, marketplace, or creator-focused platform
  • Passion for creator communities and/or new product categories that are uniquely suited to live e-commerce
  • Experience with SQL or other data querying languages to pull and analyze sales data and performance metrics

Responsibilities

  • Lead, manage, and develop a team of Account Executives, providing regular coaching, call reviews, and performance feedback
  • Roll up your sleeves and get in the field alongside your reps — joining calls, supporting key deals, and modeling best-in-class sales behaviors
  • Drive day-to-day sales execution including pipeline management, activity tracking, and deal progression
  • Partner with the Director of Sales to implement and refine sales playbooks, processes, and strategy
  • Set clear performance goals, analyze sales metrics, and deliver regular reporting to leadership on team performance and emerging trends
  • Work closely with peers across Marketing, Product, Finance, and Operations to align the sales motion with broader business priorities
  • Drive accountability and key growth outcomes across the full sales lifecycle
  • Recruit, onboard, and ramp new sales hires as the team scales
  • Foster a high-energy, coachable, and performance-driven team culture
