The Sales Manager is responsible for effectively soliciting and becoming familiar with all accounts in his/her market segments. He/she is also responsible for prospecting and closing on assigned accounts/territory to positively impact hotel revenues. This role requires attending daily business review meetings, developing a full working knowledge of hotel operations (Food & Beverage, Guest Services, Reservations), and understanding company sales policies and SOPs. The Sales Manager must meet or exceed set goals, operate within the sales expense budget, and participate in M.O.D. and Saturday office coverage as scheduled. Key duties include initiating and following up on leads, maintaining an active sales solicitation program, monitoring top accounts, contacting existing accounts, meeting sales solicitation call goals, inviting clients for entertainment and tours, assisting with special promotions, preparing reports, and conducting professional site inspections. The role also involves using the computerized sales management system, meeting and greeting onsite contacts, abiding by Prime Selling Time (PST), developing networking opportunities, reviewing planner evaluations, entertaining clients, and handling inquiries.
