About The Position

Wynne Volvo Cars Hampton is seeking a driven and experienced Sales Manager to lead our Volvo sales team. This role is responsible for overseeing daily sales operations, developing team performance, and ensuring an exceptional customer experience that aligns with Volvo’s premium brand standards. This role is responsible for driving new and pre-owned sales performance, managing inventory strategy, and developing a strong, customer-focused sales team. The ideal candidate brings proven automotive leadership experience, strong desking skills, and the ability to balance volume and gross across both departments.

Requirements

  • Previous sales management experience required.
  • Proven track record of leading successful sales teams and achieving results.
  • Strong understanding of new and used car operations, inventory management, market trends, and finance.
  • Excellent leadership, coaching, and communication abilities.
  • Proficiency with automotive CRMs, DMS systems, and digital retailing tools.
  • Customer-focused mindset with a commitment to dealership values and reputation.
  • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, goal-driven environment.
  • Willing to submit pre-employment background check, DMV record, and drug screen

Responsibilities

  • Lead and manage both new and used vehicle sales teams to achieve and exceed sales and profit objectives
  • Desk deals, structure transactions, and support the team in closing opportunities
  • Oversee inventory management for both new and pre-owned vehicles, including ordering, pricing, and aging strategies
  • Analyze performance metrics (gross profit, volume, closing ratios, inventory turn) and implement action plans
  • Ensure consistent execution of the dealership’s sales process and CRM follow-up standards
  • Work closely with F&I to maximize product penetration and overall deal profitability
  • Collaborate with service and reconditioning teams to ensure timely availability of sale-ready inventory
  • Maintain strong knowledge of manufacturer programs, incentives, and compliance requirements
  • Recruit, train, and develop sales staff to build a high-performing team
  • Resolve customer concerns and ensure a superior customer experience
  • Ensure compliance with all dealership policies and state/federal regulations.
