About The Position

Vortex Doors, America’s highest quality and most customer-centric commercial and industrial door repair company, is seeking a motivated Sales Manager to join our company. As a Sales Manager, your primary responsibility is to drive revenue growth through effective quoting, project management, backlog oversight, and leadership of the Service Advisors and Technical Sales Leaders. You will provide upper-level technical, administrative, and sales support to the front office and field teams. This role requires daily engagement with both routine and complex issues, ensuring prompt customer response, accurate technical guidance, and strong sales execution.

Requirements

  • Proactive and forward thinking to identify and pivot to changing economic conditions and customer buying trends.
  • Advanced trouble shooting and multi-tasking skills.
  • Computer knowledge and skills, i.e., MS Office Suite – Word, Power Point and Excel are required.
  • Experience with ERP systems and Sales Force CRM is beneficial.
  • Collaborative with a continuous improvement outlook.
  • Initiative-taking and able to work with minimal supervision to meet deadlines.
  • Demonstrated hands-on approach and an ability to build and maintain strong effective business relationships in a team-based environment.

  • 5+ years of experience in sales, service operations, or technical customer support.
  • 2–3 years of leadership or supervisory experience, preferably in Service centers
  • Ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines.
  • Ability to perform jobsite checks, review documentation, and assess project readiness.
  • Skilled in prioritizing backlog based on urgency, technician capacity, and customer needs.
  • Technical field services – experienced door and dock installations
  • Construction, building materials, or mechanical/electrical systems.
  • Proven background in Quoting and proposal development
  • Proven background in Project management
  • Proven background in Managing a backlog or pipeline

Responsibilities

  • Lead all service and project quoting.
  • Guide team in preparing accurate quotes.
  • Review of high-value quotes.
  • Support large project bids.
  • Build and maintain customer relationships.
  • Manage project backlog.
  • Ensure quotes convert into clear projects.
  • Conduct project check-ins.
  • Review and approve related invoices.
  • Assist in negotiations and collections.
  • Participate in warranty and training discussions.
  • Conduct customer satisfaction follow-ups.
  • Serve as a technical resource.
  • Provide guidance to dispatch.
  • Review service orders and prepare follow-up quotes.
  • Support specialty technical groups.
  • Collaborate on sales goals and improvements.
  • Review monthly P&L.
  • Stay current on industry standards.
  • Lead, coach, and develop the Service Advisors and Technical Sales Leaders.
  • Support staffing, hiring, and interviewing.
  • Train team members in sales processes and policies.
  • Assist leadership with performance evaluations.
  • Contribute to management meeting agendas.
  • Hold team accountable for quoting accuracy and responsiveness.
  • Recognize outstanding team performance.
  • Support corrective actions when needed.
  • Support company safety initiatives.
  • Ensure PPE communication for site visits.
  • Assist in reviewing incidents and documentation.
  • Provide feedback on driving/safety reports.
