About The Position

GFL Environmental is seeking a dynamic and results-driven Sales Manager to lead our sales team in Winnipeg, MB. In this role, you will drive profitable revenue growth by leading, coaching, and inspiring a team of Account Executives, Account Managers, and Sales Support professionals. You will partner with business unit leadership to develop and execute strategic sales and marketing plans, optimize pricing strategies, and foster a collaborative, high-performance sales culture.

Requirements

  • 5+ years of successful B2B sales experience (waste management, environmental services, or logistics background preferred).
  • 2–3 years of direct people management or team leadership experience.
  • Familiarity with waste management lines of business, equipment, and service offerings is a strong asset.
  • Valid driver's license with a clean driving record.
  • Exceptional verbal communication, interpersonal, presentation, and negotiation skills.
  • Proven ability to analyze market trends, build strategic plans, and foster a collaborative team environment.
  • Valid work authorization in the country where the job is located is required.

Responsibilities

  • Recruit, hire, onboard, and train sales team personnel.
  • Manage daily performance, provide active coaching, set targets, and conduct formal performance reviews.
  • Conduct regular field sales skill assessments to mentor and develop team members.
  • Develop and execute sales and retention strategies to expand market share and maintain a strong client base.
  • Oversee and ensure full team utilization of GFL sales tools, including CRM, pricing models, and customer data platforms.
  • Lead the preparation and delivery of high-impact sales presentations to major regional accounts.
  • Conduct customer waste stream analyses to create tailored, value-driven service proposals.
  • Monitor competitor pricing patterns, analyze market trends, and refine business unit pricing and bid strategies.
  • Analyze lost business trends and implement corrective action plans.
  • Support the branch budget process, including monthly forecasting and revenue goal tracking.
  • Assist leadership in identifying acquisition targets and support integration efforts for newly merged businesses.
  • Meet regularly with major accounts to ensure exceptional service delivery and client satisfaction.
  • Serve as an industry expert for clients, team members, and executive leadership.
  • Ensure all sales activities comply with local, provincial, and federal regulations, as well as company policies.
  • Perform additional duties and operational projects as assigned by leadership.
