Requirements

High school diploma or equivalent required
At least one year sales experience required
At least one year hospitality experience preferred
At least three years customer service experience preferred
Must be able to read, write and speak English
Must have valid Florida driver’s license, or be willing to obtain one, and meet company driving standards
Must be able to work well under pressure
Must be able to work with high level of accuracy
Must be extremely detail orientated
Must have the ability to analyze and close business
Must have strong solicitation, account profile and qualification skills
Must have strong knowledge of the sales process
Must be able to accurately follow instructions, both verbally and written
Must possesses excellent communication skills
Must be able to work with high level of autonomy
Must be professional in appearance and demeanor
Ability to work a flexible schedule that may include evenings, weekends and holidays
Must be willing to travel as necessary
Must have strong knowledge of computers
Must have strong knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite programs
Must have the ability to deal effectively and interact well with the guests and associates
Must have the ability to resolve problems/conflicts in a diplomatic and tactful manner
Must have a passion for creating an exceptional experience for all guests

Nice To Haves

Four year degree preferred
At least three to five years sales experience preferred

Responsibilities

Books profitable business for the hotel
Solicits potential sales leads
Contacts clients to sell special amenities and/or extras to enhance their stay
Establishes strong rapport with clientele; maintaining strong communication prior to hotel stay
Maintains strong client base within assigned market segment
Actively participates in industry related organizations
Prospects for new business opportunities
Consistently works to book repeat business
Maintains close contact with clients to determine needs, expectations, etc.
Communicates effectively with hotel staff to ensure smooth delivery of all services.
Coordinates with reservations to ensure accuracy in room requests
Coordinates and conducts site tours for booked and potential guests
Assists in producing sales contracts
Achieves designated sales goals
Works effectively with Lodging, Recreation, Convention Services, and Banquet Departments to ensure guest satisfaction
Maintains strong knowledge of Lake Nona market, with the ability to sell and service events at Aloft.
Actively participates in community/civic activities to maintain awareness within community and to create booking opportunities
Participates in geographically appropriate trade shows
Explains and justifies expenses to clients
Evaluates each piece of business to ensure business can be properly serviced
Executes sales plan to exceed goals
Maintains strong awareness of hospitality trends
Reviews guests’ feedback to ensure continual guest satisfaction
Welcomes incoming guests with courteous and professional attitude
Handles client requests promptly and with high level of accuracy
Maintains an up to date working knowledge of all property amenities as well as any special events
Interacts with staff in a professional manner, assisting other departments with necessary information
Always maintains a professional demeanor and attitude
Communicates all pertinent information to the sales team
Maintains constant awareness of safety issues, (i.e. broken glass, frayed electrical cords, leaks, broken locks and suspicious persons). Reports all safety incidents to on-duty supervisor.
Acts with responsibility towards all company property, supplies and equipment.
Maintains a professional appearance. Follows Aloft dress code standards.
Remains alert, courteous and helpful to the guests and colleagues at all times
Performs other duties as assigned
