About The Position
ScottsMiracle-Gro is seeking a Sales Manager to join its Field Sales team and manage an assigned sales territory in Tallahassee, Florida. The role focuses on building relationships with major home center retail partners, including The Home Depot and Lowe’s, increasing the in-store presence of Scotts Miracle-Gro brands, developing and executing sales and marketing plans, managing a budget, and overseeing merchandising execution. The Sales Manager also supervises and develops a team of Merchandisers. The position offers leadership opportunities, bonus potential, and vehicle reimbursement.
Requirements
- High school diploma or GED.
- At least 1 year of experience in retail, merchandising, and/or account management.
- Strong delegation skills.
- Ability to work independently with little or no supervision.
- Experience using sales forecasting tools.
- Problem-solving and service-oriented attitude.
- Ability to work a flexible schedule, including holidays and weekends.
- Current, valid driver's license and reliable transportation.
- Ability to walk, stand, climb an 8–12-foot ladder, lift up to 45 pounds, and be exposed to weather elements such as heat, cold, wind, and rain.

Responsibilities
- Manage and direct Merchandisers’ work by planning, scheduling, and delegating assignments, and providing ongoing feedback.
- Analyze and prepare key metrics to educate home center retail partners on business opportunities using strategic selling tactics.
- Develop retail sales and marketing plans, creative marketing tools, and events.
- Develop recruiting plans, interview candidates, and make hiring decisions to build the Merchandiser team while managing the budget.
- Provide job training and communicate product knowledge across the Scotts brands portfolio.
- Assist retailers with proper merchandising of Scotts product lines, including use of point-of-purchase materials as appropriate to meet account needs.
- Develop relationships with major home center retail partners and increase the in-store presence of Scotts Miracle-Gro brands in the assigned territory.
- Oversee merchandising execution in the assigned territory.
