About The Position

This role is responsible for coaching and developing sales staff to ensure monthly revenue goal attainment. The Sales Manager - Trainee will develop sales staff in various areas including prospecting, public speaking, closing, product knowledge, pricing, payment terms, electronic contracts, and sales prospecting. The position also involves providing customer service issue resolution guidance and shadowing the Sales Director and Sales Managers in business meetings to learn marketing and financials.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma or GED
  • Series 6 or 7 License, current in the operating state, or obtain within six months of employment
  • Valid state driver’s license with an acceptable driving record
  • At least four (4) years’ sales experience focusing in outside or inside direct sales to consumers with a proven record of exceeding sales goals and conversion ratio
  • Experience and proficient utilizing CRM databases and Saleforce.com preferred
  • Experience and proficient with electronic sales contracts
  • Leadership qualities and skills
  • Professional written and verbal communication skills including influencing and public speaking
  • Comfortable with in-home sales and conducting group presentations
  • Ability to work with and communicate with remote stakeholders
  • Must have a positive attitude, a drive to continually advance your understanding of the industry and business, and is highly self-motivated
  • Process and results oriented, motivated to keep projects moving ahead by removing obstacles and exploring alternatives
  • Cognitive Ability including reason, plan, solve problems, think abstractly, learn quickly, learn from experience, and appropriately apply learning to new situations.
  • MS Office Suite skills

  • Associates degree in a related discipline preferred
  • Experience in Funeral Services industry a plus

Responsibilities

  • Achieving monthly revenue goal and conversion ratio.
  • Developing sales staff skills in prospecting, public speaking skills, closing, product knowledge and pricing, payment terms, closing, electronic contracts as well as sales prospecting.
  • Establishing and communicating expectations with the sales team while building their skills.
  • Reviewing sales contracts ensuring compliance with company processes and regulatory compliance, providing feedback to sales staff.
  • Utilizing CRM systems to identify and assign warm leads.
  • Working with the marketing and sales management team on campaign development, target audience, and learning advertising to increase market share.
  • Developing an annual sales plan for each sales associate, identifying actions that support goal attainment.
  • Identifying and implementing innovative solutions to improve efficiencies.
  • Supporting change initiatives, maintaining effectiveness when experiencing major changes in work responsibilities or environment; adjusting effectively to work within new work structures, processes, requirements or cultures.
  • Developing a strong, trusting, and reliable team.
  • Understanding team members' career aspirations and providing assignments to develop skills and/or close gaps.
  • Constructively addressing issues and providing tangible and appropriate feedback.
  • Applying a proactive and collaborative management style in order to increase employee engagement and minimize turnover.
  • Screening candidates (internal and external) and hiring or promoting a skilled and effective staff.
  • Assessing staff’s abilities recommending pay increases and career advancements.
  • Training staff on processes, procedures, and controls.
