This role provides leadership to the ready mix sales staff, dispatch supervisor, and quality control supervisor and their teams. The typical schedule is Monday - Friday, 8:00 AM - 5:00 PM, with occasional Saturdays.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree from an accredited university or equivalent preferred
  • 5 years sales and marketing management in concrete industry
  • Ability to provide and maintain proper licensure, medical card and acceptable driving record.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Strong organizational skills.
  • Knowledge of MS Office (Word, Excel, Outlook).
  • Able to work independently and under time constraints.
  • Self-motivated, team-player with good interpersonal skills; ability to maintain positive customer relations & act courteous/respectful of others.

Responsibilities

  • Coordinate sales distribution by establishing sales territories, quotas, and goals.
  • Advise dealers, distributors, and clients on sales and advertising techniques.
  • Assign sales territories to sales staff.
  • Represent the company at trade association meetings and events.
  • Develop product and service development direction through surveys, customer interaction, and industry statistics.
  • Maintain contact with top customers and assist sales staff with major bids.
  • Develop leads for current projects through project reporting, permit-issuing agencies, trade associations, and customer involvement.
  • Collaborate with Sales and Operations VPs to forecast sales volumes for all product lines.
  • Lead sales staff daily in achieving sales forecasts.
  • Provide oversight to the Customer Service Supervisor and communicate job and customer status.
  • Provide oversight to the Ready Mix Quality Control Supervisor in establishing a quality control program.
  • Prepare and submit jobs and projects for various award and recognition programs.
  • Collaborate with the ready mix team in setting margin goals.
  • Lead operations managers in setting pricing targets to achieve gross margin goals.
  • Lead sales staff in estimating projects, including cost analysis, service requirements, product requirements, and matching projects to goals.
  • Provide training curricula for sales, dispatch, and quality control teams.
  • Create advertising and sales literature to educate customers on products and services.
  • Communicate effectively (verbal, listening, written) and work with difficult people under high stress situations.
  • Troubleshoot and problem-solve situations (material quality, equipment operation/repair, etc.).
  • Monitor and discuss production problems with co-workers and managers/supervisors.
  • Ensure compliance with DOT, MSHA, OSHA, EPA, DNR, safety, and environmental regulations.
  • Always work safely and take action to prevent unsafe actions, processes, and behaviors.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
