About The Position

The Sales Manager & Estimator owns the top of the funnel: generating and closing leads, building relationships with home builders and general contractors, and producing accurate, profitable estimates from site visits and plans. This is a hybrid sales and technical role - equal parts relationship-building and hands-on measurement/scoping - and is critical to hitting revenue targets as the franchise scales. The ideal candidate is a self-starter who's comfortable both on a job site with a tape measure and in a builder’s, office closing a deal.

Requirements

  • 3+ years of experience in sales, estimating, or business development, ideally in construction, insulation, or a related building trade
  • Demonstrated ability to read blueprints/floor plans and translate them into accurate takeoffs
  • Strong negotiation and closing skills with a track record of hitting sales targets
  • Comfortable conducting site visits, including attics, crawl spaces, and active construction sites
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Valid driver's license with clean driving record
  • Proficiency with CRM software and estimating tools/spreadsheets

Nice To Haves

  • Prior experience selling or estimating spray foam insulation or other building envelope products
  • Existing relationships with NWA home builders, GCs, or remodelers
  • Familiarity with residential energy code requirements (IECC, R-value standards) by climate zone
  • Experience with construction estimating software
  • Bilingual (English/Spanish) a plus

Responsibilities

  • Own the full sales cycle from lead generation through close for residential and commercial insulation jobs
  • Build and maintain relationships with local home builders, general contractors, remodelers, and architects to generate repeat/referral business
  • Respond promptly to inbound leads (web, phone, referral) with professional, timely follow-up
  • Develop and execute outreach strategies to win new builder accounts across the NWA territory
  • Track pipeline, close rates, and revenue against monthly/quarterly targets
  • Represent the company at builder association events, trade shows, and industry networking functions
  • Conduct on-site assessments of residential and commercial projects (new construction, retrofit, and retro-fill)
  • Take accurate field measurements and review blueprints/plans to determine square footage, foam type, and R-value requirements per code
  • Build detailed, profitable estimates accounting for material costs, labor, equipment time, and job complexity
  • Identify site-specific challenges (access issues, existing insulation, moisture concerns, ventilation requirements) that affect scope or pricing
  • Recommend the appropriate foam system (open-cell, closed-cell, injection) based on application, climate zone, and customer goals/budget
  • Prepare clear, professional written proposals and contracts for customers and builders
  • Explain technical benefits of spray foam (energy efficiency, air sealing, moisture control) in terms customers understand
  • Handle objections around pricing, timeline, and product comparisons (vs. fiberglass, cellulose, competitors)
  • Negotiate and finalize contract terms within company pricing guidelines
  • Coordinate handoff of signed jobs to the Project Manager for scheduling and execution
  • Serve as the primary point of contact for builder/GC accounts throughout the project lifecycle
  • Conduct periodic check-ins with key accounts to maintain relationships and identify new opportunities
  • Gather and act on customer feedback to improve close rates and service quality
  • Monitor competitor activity and pricing in the NWA market (e.g., other local insulation contractors) and adjust strategy accordingly
  • Maintain accurate CRM records of leads, estimates, and closed jobs
  • Provide regular sales forecasts and pipeline reports to ownership
  • Track estimate-to-close ratios and identify areas to improve conversion
  • Coordinate with the warehouse/operations team on material lead times that affect proposal timelines
