About The Position

Empire Life is looking to hire a Sales Manager, Empire Connect to join our Retail Distribution team! We are actively seeking candidates to fill a current, open position. This role offers an opportunity to transform Empire Connect into a leading digital sales organization. You will liaise with key stakeholders to develop strategic relationships, collaborate with internal stakeholders to ensure strategic growth, and coordinate branch administration. You will also work with the VP to facilitate department forecasting, establish and manage the department budget, and liaise with Distribution Practices to ensure compliance. Additionally, you will represent Empire Connect in cross-functional initiatives, provide product, sales, and administrative support to advisors, drive growth and sales results through broker management and recruiting, measure and analyze broker production, and implement digital sales tools and processes. You will also provide sales coaching and case consultation, coordinate and run monthly virtual broker meetings, create and manage sales campaigns, assist in the growth of block acquisitions, achieve annual new broker recruiting objectives, and implement new broker onboarding and continuous training.

Requirements

  • University degree
  • Life licensed
  • 5+ years sales management experience in insurance investment/financial services industry
  • Strong knowledge of the insurance and investment industry
  • Ability to develop, and maintain effective relationships
  • Ability to lead and manage a sales team
  • Ability to think logically, analyze and solve problems
  • Ability to prioritize and balance multiple tasks or projects
  • Well developed communication, negotiation, persuasion and presentation skills
  • Attention to detail/accuracy
  • Tact, diplomacy and the ability to handle confidential information
  • Ability to work within department budget
  • English language proficiency is required for communicating with customers, advisors, or employees across Canada.

Responsibilities

  • Transform Empire Connect into a leading digital sales organization.
  • Liaise with key stakeholders to develop strategic relationships to promote and grow Empire Connect that will have a digital first focus in line with divisional goals and objectives.
  • Collaborate with key internal stakeholders to ensure Empire Connect is strategically growing and its mandate is achieved.
  • Coordinate branch administration with the Assistant Manager, Retail Operations.
  • Work with the VP to facilitate department forecasting in the growth and achievement of Empire Connect.
  • Work with the VP to establish and manage the department budget.
  • Liaise with Distribution Practices to ensure broker and department compliance is up to date.
  • Represent Empire Connect in cross-functional initiatives including marketing, customer service, and operations.
  • Provide product, sales, and administrative support to advisors including escalations.
  • Drive growth and sales results through the management of broker activity and new broker recruiting.
  • Measure and analyze broker production.
  • Transform Empire Connect into a digitally advanced agency.
  • Training and introduction to brokers on multiple carriers and their products.
  • Implementation of digital sales tools and processes.
  • Provide sales coaching and case consultation to Empire Connect brokers.
  • Coordinate and run monthly Empire Connect virtual broker meetings.
  • Create and manage sales campaigns.
  • Assist in the growth of block acquisitions through succession planning initiatives.
  • Achieve annual new broker recruiting objectives.
  • Implement and organize new broker onboarding and continuous broker training.
