About The Position

The goal of the Sales Leadership Program is to learn all facets of the scrap buying process and assume a Buyer role upon completion. This program involves 6-12 months of hands-on, in-depth training in one Geographic Region. Future relocation to any listed locations is REQUIRED (company paid relocation, strictly based on business need). The program requires candidates to learn and model the company's "Safety First" Culture, including OSHA and Safety programs. Responsibilities include developing and supporting relationships with accounts, gaining a confident understanding of the scrap recycling market through customer visits, time spent in scrap yards, and mentor shadowing. Participants will become experts in their region's marketplace and communicate market forecasts to their team. They will interact with various levels of corporate personnel, customers, vendors/suppliers, and teammates to resolve problems and ensure steady delivery of products. The program also focuses on mastering conflict resolution and relationship management skills, and staying current with the scrap metal recycling industry. Frequent travel is expected, as is relocation after the program. Candidates should expect to work outside in extreme weather conditions in an industrial environment.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree preferably in a Business discipline, Sales, Economics, Finance, or related field.
  • Exceptional communication skills to support customers and internal operations.
  • Ability to build relationships, collaborate and work efficiently with team members.
  • Exceptional organizational skills, customer service, and be highly adaptable.
  • Be able to make quick decisions with confidence in an ever-changing environment.
  • Ability to initiate, lead, and uphold safety policies, practices, procedures, and housekeeping standards at all times.
  • Successfully passing a pre-employment drug screening, which includes both urine and hair follicle testing.
