About The Position

At PNC, the Sales Leader II - C&IB Group Manager role within the Commercial Banking organization is based in Houston or The Woodlands, TX. PNC operates as an in-office company, fostering a supportive culture. This role involves managing and directing teams to achieve business results and customer experience goals, potentially including direct sales and client responsibilities, and managing both individual contributors and other managers. The position oversees the team's financial results and has a broader span of control than a Leader I. Key aspects include participating in and driving the development of goals and strategies, leading and influencing to achieve team objectives, and monitoring business metrics to adapt sales strategies. The manager develops and oversees the execution of account and sales plans, manages risk/return, and drives quality for new and existing clients, actively identifying and mitigating various types of risk. The role serves as an escalation point for risk management topics and may have exception authority. It also involves managing a network of senior internal and external relationships to acquire and expand clients, networking within the industry, and leading the team to offer PNC's full range of products and services. The manager leverages reporting and sales tools to coach the team, develops team members, identifies high-potentials, and motivates staff, including talent acquisition, retention, and performance management. This role requires effective planning, organizing, directing, analyzing, and evaluating staff and processes, connecting strategy to daily activities, and regular team updates. Employees are expected to be customer-focused, manage risk according to PNC's Enterprise Risk Management Framework, cultivate diverse teams, role model values, drive change and innovation, achieve results, and develop employees.

Requirements

  • Roles at this level typically require a university / college degree.
  • Industry-relevant experience is typically 8+ years.
  • At least 5 years of prior management experience is typically required.
  • Proven leadership experience with a moderate to large scope of responsibility is required.
  • In lieu of a degree, a comparable combination of education, job specific certification(s), and experience (including military service) may be considered.

Responsibilities
