About The Position

Famous Footwear is seeking a Sales Lead who is passionate about providing the best shoe store experience for every customer. This role involves creating a welcoming environment and in-store culture that fosters customer loyalty to the store, brands, and company. The Sales Lead is expected to take on additional responsibilities, execute tasks with pride, and be a team player who celebrates successes. They should stay informed about trends and share knowledge with the team and customers to build engaging experiences. Most importantly, the Sales Lead should love shoes and help every customer feel the "Famous Feeling" by finding the perfect fit and style.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma/GED.
  • Proficient working knowledge of general retail practices and procedures.
  • Some retail store management experience or relevant management experience.
  • Previous experience being on a team and motivating others to accomplish a goal.
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks and communicate direction set by the store manager.
  • Demonstrated ability to mentor and train Associates on selling and operational processes.
  • Demonstrated ability to work a flexible schedule and meet availability requirements of the role, including holidays, nights, weekends, and extended hours.
  • Basic computer skills.

Responsibilities

  • Inspire teammates with integrity and drive, fostering a culture of caring and camaraderie, and infuse coaching moments for selling behaviors.
  • Take accountability for goals and their impact on Famous Footwear’s overall performance, driving sales with purpose and determination.
  • Manage retail operations, including pricing and inventory, ensuring the store runs smoothly, is clean, organized, and styles are easily shoppable.
  • Handle opening and closing the store.
  • Adhere to company policies and utilize partners and resources to accomplish tasks.
  • Champion the Famous culture by embodying behaviors that power Customer Connection, delivering top-notch experiences with attentiveness and determination.
  • Embrace diversity and inclusivity, ensuring every associate feels valued and respected, and maintain a positive and proactive mindset.
  • Assist customers in finding the perfect styles and making shoe recommendations to ensure they leave with the perfect fit and the Famous Feeling.
