About The Position

NBCUniversal is a leading media and entertainment company. This internship offers students real-world experience in the television industry, specifically within the Sales team at NBC & Telemundo Connecticut. Interns will support the development of multiplatform campaigns and strategies to drive advertising revenue. The internship is paid and does not require course credit, with a pay rate of minimum wage. Interns will have the opportunity to unlock their potential by contributing to meaningful projects, developing their skills, and learning daily in a company that values its employees, communities, and culture.

Requirements

Must be actively enrolled in a degree-granting program at an accredited institution during the length of the program and be able to provide documentation to confirm your degree progress.
Current class standing of sophomore or above (30 credits)
Must be authorized to work in the United States without visa sponsorship by NBCUniversal
Must be willing to work at the station in West Hartford, CT

Excellent verbal and written communication, interpersonal, and creative skills
Exceptional project management, organizational and presentation skills
Familiarity with and experience using TikTok, Facebook, Instagram
Interest in the television, streaming or digital entertainment industries
Must be proficient in PowerPoint, Word, Excel, SharePoint, Microsoft Teams
Graphic design experience with proficiency in Photoshop (Final Cut Pro)
Bilingual skills – Spanish/English – preferred, but not necessary

Responsibilities

Create PowerPoint presentations on business trends and actively participate in all meetings.
Assist in pipeline management by pulling through zero share business, prospective lucrative business categories and cold calling.
Assist digital sales planner by helping to manage all phases of the pre- and post-sale digital campaign process, including creating media plans, gathering campaign assets and optimizing campaigns.
Participate in brainstorming sessions with sales team to develop creative solutions for advertisers.
Generate ideas for advertisers that could lead to new sources of revenue – stay on top of current events, market trends, emerging business categories and competitive efforts to identify innovative revenue streams.
Ensure customer satisfaction in pre- and post-sales service. Monitor the delivery of cross-platform campaigns to ensure communication between sales and marketing.
Navigate and learn effectively through a wide variety of platforms and avenues: digital, web research, mobile, social media, sports, television, sponsorships.
Support sales team in pipeline management via account creation, claims, and changes in SalesForce portal.
Assisting sales marketing team in projects as designated and relevant to account executive /client campaigns.
Provide various administrative support on daily tasks.
