About The Position

United Rentals is seeking a branch Sales Intern to learn the sales process through experience in both inside and outside sales, with an ongoing focus on customer service excellence. The internship provides industry knowledge and practical skills, with the stated goal of becoming a Sales Associate upon receipt of a degree. Duties may vary by department. This position is deemed Safety Sensitive under United Rentals’ policies and procedures.

Requirements

Must be currently pursuing a BA/BS degree in sales or a related major.
Strong organizational and interpersonal skills.
Excellent oral and written communication skills and strong presentation skills.
Strong analytical and financial analysis skills.
High proficiency in Microsoft Office, including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Access.
Ability to effectively handle multiple assignments or project components simultaneously.
Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
Self-motivated, with a strong drive and sense of urgency.

Nice To Haves

Prior relevant work experience is preferred.

Responsibilities

Participate in safety training, including learning proper personal protective equipment use, safe equipment handling, and applicable safety policies and procedures.
Help support branch yard workflow and operational efficiency, including checking in and washing equipment and assisting customers.
Shadow inside and outside sales employees to learn their roles, responsibilities, and customer-focused approach.
Train on systems such as RentalMan and Salesforce.com.
Participate in departmental and cross-functional meetings, ride-alongs, work sessions, conference calls, and Webex meetings.
Perform other duties as assigned.
