About The Position

United Rentals is hiring a branch Sales Intern to learn the sales process through experience in both inside and outside sales, with an ongoing focus on customer service. The internship provides industry knowledge and practical skills, with the goal of moving into a Sales Associate role after the intern receives their degree. The position also includes exposure to branch operations and safety practices. Duties may vary by department.

Requirements

Prior relevant work experience is preferred.
Strong organizational and interpersonal skills.
Excellent oral and written communication skills and strong presentation skills.
Strong analytical and financial analysis skills.
High proficiency in Microsoft Office, including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Access.
Ability to handle multiple assignments or project components simultaneously.
Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
Self-motivated, with a strong drive and sense of urgency.
Currently pursuing a BA/BS degree in sales or a related major.

Responsibilities

Participate in safety training, including training on personal protective equipment, safe equipment handling, and safety policies and procedures.
Participate in branch yard workflow and operational efficiency, including checking in and washing equipment and assisting customers.
Shadow inside and outside sales employees to learn their roles, responsibilities, and customer-service focus.
Train on systems including RentalMan and Salesforce.com.
Participate in departmental and cross-functional meetings, ride-alongs, work sessions, conference calls, and Webex meetings.
Perform other duties as assigned.
