About The Position

Intrepid Direct Insurance (IDI) is seeking an experienced and aggressive Sales Executive for an in-office position in the Kansas City metro. This role supports growth and profitability in an assigned territory through specialized training in Property & Casualty insurance, focusing on building relationships with new and existing customers. The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of the sales process, excel at lead generation, relationship building, and closing deals, and possess strong negotiating skills, adaptability, and the ability to compellingly present company offerings. Intrepid Direct is a rapidly growing direct-to-consumer property and casualty insurance company, part of the W. R. Berkley Corporation, focused on segments like quick service franchise restaurants, automotive aftermarket, and fitness businesses, with plans for future expansion.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree and two years of successful outside sales experience and/or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Successful track record of business-to-business sales and territory management.
  • At least 1-2 years’ work experience in a sales-specific role with a training, organizational development, or content development focus.
  • Ability to learn and utilize company-approved software and business system applications.
  • Ability to analyze data, insurance policies, loss runs, and financial statements.
  • Ability to work within a regulatory environment.
  • Strong ability to balance persuasion with professionalism.
  • Organized and driven individual with a “Bring The Hammer” mentality.
  • Strong comprehension of the sales process.
  • Quick learner.
  • Adaptability.

Responsibilities

  • Identify and cultivate new commercial business prospects to provide Property and Casualty insurance.
  • Achieve weekly, monthly, and annual sales quotas by successfully implementing sales and marketing strategies and tactics.
  • Responsible for new business production, retention & profitability within a defined territory.
  • Develop and maintain relationships with new and existing customers in support of growth targets.
  • Engage prospective opportunities for their insurance needs within a variety of Intrepid targeted verticals.
  • Work closely with other Intrepid Direct teammates to maintain and enhance customer relationships and provide seamless program / product implementation.
  • Give presentations and attend networking events and trade shows.
  • Support growth and profitability in an assigned territory through specific training related to Property & Casualty insurance.
  • Support relationships with new and existing customers.
