About The Position

The Sales Executive's primary purpose is to drive new business growth within the agency by developing and maintaining favorable customer relationships with both new and existing customers. This role is responsible for prospecting, soliciting, quoting, and selling new group sales related to Employee Benefits. The Sales Executive will also review existing benefit plan coverages, perform market analysis, and prepare strategy recommendations tailored to clients' individual needs. Responsibilities include ensuring the successful onboarding of new digital benefit platforms and conducting initial Open Enrollment. The role requires developing and executing individual business plans to meet assigned sales and growth goals, with an expectation to grow the book of business year over year.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent education and experience required.
  • 3+ years of successful business-to-business experience, with a portion in employee benefits brokerage or health plan group product sales.
  • In-depth knowledge of employee welfare benefits, including HMOs, PPOs, Self-Insured and Consumer Directed Health Plans, as well as ancillary coverages like life, disability, and dental insurance.
  • Property & Casualty Broker's license and/or Life, Accident, and Health license, or ability to obtain within 3 months of hire.
  • Advanced knowledge and commitment to continuing education with Employee Benefits insurance products, cost-containment strategies, risk management solutions, and industry trend relevancy.
  • Ability to synthesize and consult on different benefit funding arrangements, products, and technologies to deliver creative, comprehensive employee benefit program proposals.
  • Proven relationship building skills to support business development efforts (internal, external, COI).
  • Ability to work with regional banking and insurance teams to achieve mutual business development and retention goals.

Responsibilities

  • Drive new business growth within the agency.
  • Develop and maintain favorable customer relationships with new and existing customers.
  • Prospect, solicit, quote, and sell new group sales related to Employee Benefits.
  • Review existing benefit plan coverages.
  • Perform market analysis and prepare strategy recommendations tailored to client needs.
  • Ensure successful onboarding of new digital benefit platforms.
  • Conduct initial Open Enrollment.
  • Develop and execute individual business plans to meet sales and growth goals.
  • Grow book of business year over year.
  • Achieve individual revenue and growth goals by prospecting, developing, and closing middle market new business opportunities (50% of tasks).
  • Achieve individual customer retention targets through successful delivery of risk management advisory services, account cross-selling, and general customer service (30% of tasks).
  • Work closely with regional banking partners to achieve mutual business development goals (15% of tasks).
  • Perform all other tasks as assigned by management (5% of tasks).
