About The Position

Bingemans is a large and dynamic meeting and conference facility in the Waterloo Region, and one of Southwestern Ontario's largest catering companies for both on and off-site events. With over 70 years of experience, Bingemans provides exceptional fun through amenities like the Big Splash Water Park, FunWorX Indoor Playland, and the Bingemans Camping Resort. In the fall, it transforms into Screampark, a terrifying haunted attraction, and hosts the Oktoberfest Kool Haus during KW Oktoberfest. Bingemans also includes Kingpin Bowlounge and Putt Social locations. The company's mission is to provide Grand Experiences. The Sales Event Coordinator role involves establishing, developing, and maintaining sales activities and client relationships, managing client accounts, ensuring positive client experiences, and generating new sales opportunities.

Requirements

  • 1-2 years sales experience (preferably hospitality) actively prospecting and securing new business.
  • Experience selling to a variety of market segments.
  • Post-secondary diploma in Sales, Business or equivalent.
  • Strong business development and organizational skills.
  • Confident and engaging.
  • Motivated by sales targets / goals.
  • Excellent time management skills, able to work in a constantly fast-paced environment and demonstrated work flexibility.
  • Self-starter/positive attitude.
  • Must possess professional decorum and an assertive sales quality.
  • Ability to work in a team environment as well as independently.

Responsibilities

  • Prospect and target new business opportunities and leads via phone, in person, email, and networking.
  • Serve as the primary point of contact for the client, arranging and confirming all event details prior to the event.
  • Effectively sell and book venue meeting space and catering both onsite at Bingemans Conference Centre and off premise.
  • Build and maintain a positive relationship with clients with a key understanding of their needs.
  • Develop clear and effective written proposals/quotations for clients.
  • Work and communicate effectively with all operational departments.
  • Respond to inquiries by setting up discovery calls via phone or video, email, or in person.
  • Participate/attend local community events to develop business.
  • Attend trade shows and networking events as needed.
  • Consistently meet or exceed sales goals.
  • Oversee all client event communications between the sales team and operations departments, including reporting and change notices.
  • Ensuring all permits are in place for liquor license, extensions, and tents.
  • Other duties as assigned.
