About The Position

We have earned a reputation as one of the Pacific Northwest's premier providers of precision machining, fabrication, gear manufacturing, and custom assembly solutions. Our Seattle-based manufacturing campus includes multiple specialized facilities serving customers across the aerospace, defense, naval, energy, heavy equipment, and industrial sectors. We are seeking a technically minded Sales Estimator who understands manufacturing processes and can confidently collaborate with customers to develop practical machining and fabrication solutions. This role is ideal for an individual who combines strong manufacturing knowledge with excellent communication and relationship-building skills. As a Sales Estimator, you will work closely with customers, engineering teams, and manufacturing personnel to evaluate opportunities, develop cost estimates, and provide solutions for complex machining, fabrication, gear, and assembly projects. The successful candidate will serve as a key link between customer requirements and manufacturing capabilities, ensuring projects are accurately quoted, competitively priced, and successfully executed.

Requirements

  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in precision machining, fabrication, welding, or a related manufacturing environment.
  • Experience estimating and quoting precision-machined components, fabricated assemblies, tooling, or high-tolerance manufacturing projects.
  • Strong ability to read and interpret complex engineering drawings and specifications.
  • Understanding of GD&T (Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing).
  • Experience using CAD/CAM software to evaluate manufacturability and develop estimates.
  • Strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Proven ability to build relationships with customers and internal teams.

Nice To Haves

  • Knowledge of gears, gearboxes, and geared systems is highly desirable.
  • Project planning, scheduling, or manufacturing management experience is a plus.

Responsibilities

  • Prepare accurate cost estimates and quotations for machining, fabrication, tooling, assemblies, and custom manufacturing projects.
  • Establish production plans, manufacturing methods, and costing strategies to support customer requirements.
  • Collaborate with customers to understand project specifications and recommend manufacturing solutions.
  • Coordinate prototype development and production requirements with both new and existing customers.
  • Support gear and gearbox projects in partnership with our gear manufacturing division.
  • Review engineering drawings, specifications, and customer documentation to determine manufacturing requirements and project feasibility.
  • Utilize CAD/CAM software and manufacturing resources to develop accurate pricing and lead-time estimates.
  • Work closely with production, engineering, and quality teams to ensure project success.
  • Develop and maintain strong customer relationships while identifying opportunities for business growth.
  • Contribute innovative ideas and continuous improvement initiatives that enhance customer satisfaction and operational efficiency.
