About The Position

Powerex, an industry leader in oil-free compressed air and vacuum technology, is seeking a Sales Engineering Co-op student for the Spring 2027 term. This co-op offers a unique opportunity to gain hands-on experience at the intersection of sales, engineering, business, and customer engagement. Unlike traditional engineering co-ops, this role provides exposure to the business side of engineering, allowing students to learn how complex engineered systems are specified, built, sold, and supported. Students will work alongside experienced sales professionals, visit customer sites, and interact with industry professionals, developing crucial communication and leadership skills.

Requirements

• Currently pursuing a BS/BA degree (Engineering, Business, Sales, Marketing, or related field preferred)
• Interest in technical or consultative sales and engineering-driven products
• Strong communication, organization, and time-management skills
• Ability to interact professionally with engineers, contractors, and customers
• Self-motivated with a willingness to learn and take initiative
• Familiarity with Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint; CRM exposure is a plus
• Technical curiosity — experience or coursework related to engineering systems is beneficial but not required
• Minimum 3.0 GPA

Responsibilities

• Support the sales team with quotation, submittal, and follow-up activities
• Learn how to go to market with a distribution network
• Participate in customer visits, sales calls, and training sessions alongside senior sales staff
• Assist with product and application training materials and presentations
• Conduct market research, competitor analysis, and account tracking
• Maintain and update customer and opportunity data in CRM systems
