Requirements

  • 2–5 years in sales engineering, solutions consulting, or a technical role where you carried or co-owned deals, ideally for a B2B SaaS product.
  • Comfort running multiple live deals across several reps at once — you context-switch cleanly and don't drop threads.
  • Ability to connect product capabilities to tangible business outcomes — reduced risk, fewer incidents, operational leverage.
  • Passion for incredible technology.
  • Cognitively sharp - You learn fast, ask incisive questions, and speak your buyer’s language from day one.
  • Clear communication - You communicate to be understood. You meet buyers where they are, never oversell, never disappear into the weeds, and pick simple over complex every time.
  • Technically credible - Engineers trust you fast. You earn trust with clarity and substance, not jargon.
  • Resourceful - You don’t wait for perfect. You figure it out and find a way.
  • Accountable - You own the deal, not just the demo.
  • Coachable - You seek feedback and apply it fast.

Responsibilities

  • Own the deal alongside your AEs — a shared technical resource across a pod of 5 reps.
  • Meet every buyer where they are and make Petra’s technical power seem intuitive to them.
  • Own outcomes across your pod. Carry deals with your AEs from first demo to signed.
  • Explain how Petra works, without getting lost in the weeds.
  • Translate tech into business impact. Connect what makes Petra different to what the buyer cares about: less risk, fewer incidents, less wasted time.
  • Shape sales strategy directly with the founding team.
  • Multi-thread across technical and C-suite types. Get buy-in.
  • Represent Petra at conferences, roughly 1-2x/month.
  • Prioritize ruthlessly. You'll have more live deals than hours. You decide where your time creates the most lift.
