About The Position

We are seeking a dynamic and customer-focused Sales Engineer to join our team full-time. In this role, you will partner closely with the Sales team to help customers understand the full potential of the Exostar Platform. You’ll leverage your ability to interpret customer needs and articulate the business value of addressing technical challenges through our SaaS solutions. Key responsibilities include delivering compelling proof-of-concepts (POCs), and collaborating cross-functionally with Services, Operations, Engineering, and Product teams to ensure successful outcomes. Additional duties may be assigned as needed.

Requirements

  • 5+ years of pre-sales engineering, solutions engineering, or related experience.
  • Experience in other customer-facing roles such as Services, Support, or Customer Success.
  • Ability to whiteboard solutions quickly and explain them to both technical and non-technical audiences.
  • Leverage your expertise in authentication protocols such as SAML, WS-Federation, and OIDC to design and implement tailored solutions for customers and prospects.
  • Navigate and apply government and industry compliance standards — including ITAR, NIST 800-171, and CMMC — to ensure secure and compliant collaboration with vendors and external service providers.
  • An understanding of core security concerns within a typical application and in SAAS applications and their hosting (password hashing, SSL/TLS, encryption at rest, XSS, XSRF).
  • Writing sample and demonstration examples will be required.

Nice To Haves

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related technical field — or 5+ years of experience in Sales Engineering or a similar customer-facing technical role.
  • Proven team player with a strong commitment to customer success.
  • Highly detail-oriented, adaptable, and deadline-driven.
  • Skilled in creating technical documentation and conducting in-depth analysis.
  • Experienced in developing product demonstrations and leading Proof of Concept (PoC) initiatives.
  • Familiar with SaaS and Cloud-based services.
  • Collaborative mindset with a passion for creative problem-solving.
  • Self-starter with a proactive approach to challenges and opportunities.
