About The Position

The Sales Engineer serves as a technical and commercial partner to customers, supporting the development of customized power generation solutions from initial opportunity through proposal and customer acceptance. This role combines engineering expertise with strong business acumen to evaluate project feasibility, structure commercially viable solutions, and communicate value effectively. The Sales Engineer collaborates closely with customers and cross-functional teams to deliver solutions that meet technical, operational, and economic requirements.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical, Electrical, or Industrial Engineering required; Master’s degree preferred
  • 3-5 years of experience in B2B technical or solution-based sales, preferably with direct engagement supporting industrial facilities, utilities, EPCs, or OEM customers.
  • EIT or PE certification is preferred.
  • Experience working with large scale mechanical and/or electrical equipment and a solid understanding of deal economics and commercial structures.
  • Proven ability in high level project scoping, proposal development, solution architecture, and economic evaluation of projects.
  • Ability to structure custom commercial solutions and evaluate project feasibility.
  • Commercially minded with the ability to structure custom solutions, evaluate project feasibility, and balance technical and business considerations.
  • Strong analytical, problem solving, and communication skills with the ability to work cross functionally.
  • Good written and verbal communication skills can effectively interact with personnel at all levels of the organization.
  • Excellent time management skills, able to prioritize workload to meet deadlines.
  • Organized with strong attention to detail.
  • Strong analytical and critical thinking skills.
  • Proficient working in Microsoft Office 365 applications and able to quickly learn other work-related software.

Nice To Haves

  • Prior experience with power generation or microgrids is strongly preferred.
  • Industry experience in Oil & Gas, Data Centers, or Utilities is highly desirable
  • Knowledge of emissions compliance is preferred
  • Exhibits strong technical curiosity and hands on aptitude related to power systems, engines, or mechanical technologies.

Responsibilities

  • Develop, review, and tailor commercial proposals that align with customer requirements, technical specifications, and business objectives.
  • Evaluate, qualify, and assess the feasibility of prospective opportunities, balancing technical solutions with commercial viability.
  • Partner closely with customers to understand their operational challenges and translate technical capabilities into compelling value propositions.
  • Prepare and deliver targeted, high‑impact presentations that communicate technical solutions through clear storytelling and measurable business value.
  • Collaborate with engineering and project teams to ensure proposed equipment and services meet technical, operational, and performance requirements.
  • Work cross‑functionally with the commercial and sales teams to support deal development, customer engagement, and solution alignment.
  • Analyze deal structure, pricing considerations, and commercial risk using strong business judgment and an analytical mindset
  • Build and maintain strong customer relationships by serving as a trusted technical and commercial advisor.
  • Support contract negotiations by providing technical and commercial input to ensure feasibility and alignment with customer requirements
  • Actively utilize and contribute to the improvement of internal tools, processes, and sales enablement resources.
  • Support the full sales lifecycle from opportunity identification through proposal development and customer acceptance.
  • Contribute to the development and improvement of internal tools, processes, and sales‑enablement resources.
  • Travel up to 20% to customer sites, industry events, and internal meetings
  • Maintain compliance with Health, Safety, and Environmental (HSE) policies by attending all required HSE training sessions, safety meetings, and always utilize proper Personal Protective Equipment (PPE).
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
