About The Position

The Sales Engineering role serves as a strategic technical partner in the pre-sales process, combining deep programmatic expertise with consultative client engagement. This role translates complex client business challenges into solutions, delivering compelling product demos and solution narratives that drive revenue growth and competitive differentiation. You will partner closely with Sales to guide technical discovery and position Viant as a trusted partner to brands and agencies.

Requirements

  • Strong client-facing skills with 4+ years of relevant experience in an Ad Tech role
  • Deep expertise in ad tech and digital advertising, with a strong understanding of full-funnel media and measurement solutions
  • 2+ years experience with Ad Tech platforms such as demand-side platforms (DSPs), data management platforms (DMPs), Customer Data Platform (CDP), and/or clean rooms technology
  • Proficient in conducting product demos and effectively presenting technical solutions to diverse senior stakeholders (both technical and non-technical)
  • Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, with the ability to explain complex concepts in a clear and concise manner
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills — able to connect insights to action and opportunity.
  • Self-starter mindset with the curiosity and drive to learn, adapt, and lead through ambiguity.

Responsibilities

  • Act as the primary technical lead throughout the pre-sales cycle — owning discovery, solution design, technical validation, and client-facing presentations
  • Partner with Sales to identify client objectives, uncover technical requirements, and architect programmatic solutions that align with business KPIs
  • Deliver compelling, insight-driven product demos that clearly articulate the value of Viant’s DSP, Identity, Data, and Measurement capabilities
  • Lead technical deep dives with client-side programmatic, data, and analytics teams, serving as a trusted advisor to both technical and executive stakeholders
  • Partner cross-functionally to bring new business solutions to market, including Product, Marketing, Sales, etc.
  • Enable and educate Sales teams on programmatic capabilities, emerging ad tech trends, and competitive differentiation
  • Stay updated with industry trends, competitive landscape, and emerging technologies to contribute to the company's product roadmap and sales strategy
