About The Position

The Sales Engineer will support the global organization's sales function for regional customers. This role requires ensuring the technical and commercial validity of sales quotes, applying knowledge of the maritime industry, marine diesel engines, and/or power plants. The Sales Engineer will provide technical support to the global organization and on customer visits, update and maintain vessel technical master data, and ensure compliance with company rules. Responsibilities also include developing strategic plans, following up on quotes, creating order confirmations, generating performance reports, and providing input for customer segmentation, budgets, and forecasts. Approximately 5% domestic and international travel is required.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in industrial engineering or related field
  • 2 years of experience in the job offered or in a Sales Engineer-related occupation.

Responsibilities

  • Support the sales function of the global organization for regional customers.
  • Ensure technical validity of sales quotes.
  • Apply knowledge of the maritime industry, marine diesel engines and/or power plants and provide technical support to the global organization and on customer visits as needed.
  • Update and maintain vessel technical master data, including continuously update SAP sales history and data structure accordingly.
  • Ensure company compliance rules are followed.
  • Ensure commercial validity of quote by offering competitive conditions (discounts, availability).
  • Develop and implement strategic plans to achieve sales targets.
  • Follow up on open quotes, WF, and create and send order confirmation.
  • Create monthly status report of top customers’ performance and market potential.
  • Provide input to the customer segmentation process.
  • Provide input to budget and forecast.
