About The Position

MAPAL Inc. is the US subsidiary of the MAPAL Group, employing over 160 team members across two US locations. The Port Huron site serves as the U.S. Headquarters for sales, engineering, design, and administration, focusing on manufacturing and reconditioning of PCD tools. The MAPAL Group is an international supplier of precision tools for machining various materials, with 4,850 employees globally. This role involves developing and implementing sales plans to meet annual sales goals for an assigned territory. Key responsibilities include identifying and capturing new growth opportunities in the aerospace, automotive, and medical sectors, promoting and managing the MAPAL product offering through local authorized distributor network partners, troubleshooting complex machining challenges, conducting on-site tool testing and performance analysis, and demonstrating total cost of ownership (TCO) savings to end-user customers.

Requirements

  • Education includes a mix of hands-on metal cutting manufacturing experience, military, and/or formal education equivalent to a Two to Four Year degree program in a technical discipline.
  • Proficiency in CNC programming (G-code), tool geometry, and metallurgy.
  • Minimum of five years of cutting tooling experience.
  • Strong work ethic, self-motivated and must be able to work independently.
  • Excellent organization and time management skills.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills (both verbal and written).
  • Strong ability as a presenter of product with the skills of persuasion and value selling.
  • Consultative, customer focused, and solutions oriented.
  • Creatively solve problems.
  • Must be able to travel up to 50% to meet with distributor partners and end-users within the sales region.

Responsibilities

  • Develop and implement sales plans to achieve annual sales budget goal for your assigned territory.
  • Identify and capture new growth opportunities within the aerospace, automotive, and medical sectors.
  • Promote, train and manage the MAPAL product offering to local authorized distributor network partners.
  • Troubleshoot complex machining challenges involving milling, turning, and hole-making & hole-finishing.
  • Conduct on-site tool testing and performance analysis to reduce cycle times and improve part quality.
  • Demonstrate total cost of ownership (TCO) savings to procurement and engineering teams at end-user customers.
