About The Position

Position Overview: This Sales Director position reports to our Senior VP of Revenue and is responsible for the development and performance of all sales personnel and activities in the Central Region of the U.S. This position is responsible for driving sales growth, fostering customer loyalty for Lightspeed solutions, managing a sales team, and providing the training, mentoring, and leadership necessary to achieve maximum performance and profitability in line with the company's vision and core values. The Director of Education Partnerships will establish plans and strategies to expand the customer base and grow the K-12 market within their Region.

Requirements

  • Proven ability to drive sales results
  • Excellent communication skills, including listening, influencing, persuasion, and coaching
  • Ability to build strong, positive, and collaborative working relationships with the sales team and other employees
  • Skilled in communicating confidently and working alongside people of all levels, including high-level decision makers such as school superintendents
  • Has and maintains a high level of expertise in technology tools; can reinforce training of such among Account Executives
  • Strong understanding and experience in direct selling and in building high-level relationships with key accounts
  • Strong understanding of the Challenger Sales Model and the ability to coach Account Executives to this model
  • Fluent in MS Office, Outlook, Salesforce, Zoom, Slack, Concur
  • Available for multi-day overnight travel, up to 70%
  • Ability to lift and carry up to 30lbs
  • 5+ years of experience in outside sales management
  • Leadership experience managing remote sales staff

Responsibilities

  • Develops, implements, and drives sales strategies, forecasting, and territory development plans.
  • Ensures that targets and goals are reached for the region and each territory.
  • Regularly presents sales results and quarterly forecast projections to senior management.
  • Manages and develops the regional sales team, including hiring and training.
  • Coaches and mentors the sales team on best practices for selling, utilizing the Challenger Sales Model.
  • Promote Lightspeed through the effective and tailored presentation of our Challenger Model Educational Teaching Presentation at Superintendent Conferences, National & Regional Events, Tradeshows, and other events.
  • Participates in Sales Team and Corporate training, meetings, and events.
  • Builds a network of quality relationships among Superintendents and C-suite District Administration of the Top 1000 U.S. School Districts and other targeted school districts.
  • Develops and coordinates conference calls, periodic regional training, and other collaborative communication between corporate and field staff.
  • Maintains strong technical knowledge of current and new products.
  • Provides technical training to sales reps on our product, features, benefits, and applications to meet customer needs.
  • Models how to effectively, compellingly, and succinctly communicate a solutions-based message in both conversational and presentation formats, along with demonstrating the ability to tailor this message based upon their audience.
  • Responsible for providing consistent, fact-based sales forecasts for each territory within their region.
  • Responsible for the quality, timeliness, and integrity of data/documentation required of the sales team and ensuring that materials align with company strategy and policies. This includes database content, expense reports, call reports, territory development plans, evaluation management, and other materials.
