About The Position
David Kennedy Recruitment is working with a growing company that is seeking to onboard a Sales Director to lead the development of its sales organisation and drive commercial growth. Working closely with the Sales Manager, the Sales Director will establish the sales strategy, structure and processes needed to build and scale the function.
Requirements
- Native or near-native level of English
- Proven experience in a Sales Director, Head of Sales, Senior Sales Manager or similar leadership role
- Strong track record of leading and developing sales teams
- Experience defining and implementing sales strategies and processes
- Strong understanding of the full sales cycle, business development and revenue generation
- Experience with pipeline management, forecasting, CRM systems and sales KPIs
- Strong leadership, coaching and people management skills
- Excellent negotiation, communication and relationship-building abilities
- Commercially driven with a strong understanding of revenue and business growth
- Ability to establish structure and processes within a developing sales organisation
- Strategic mindset combined with a hands-on approach to sales leadership
Nice To Haves
- Experience building and scaling a sales function from an early stage
- Previous experience in a start-up or scale-up environment
- Experience establishing sales processes, methodologies and performance frameworks from the ground up
- Experience working alongside another senior sales leader within a growing organisation
Responsibilities
- Define and execute the overall sales strategy in line with the company’s commercial objectives
- Build and develop the sales organisation in collaboration with the Sales Manager
- Establish sales processes, structures, targets and performance frameworks
- Lead, coach and develop the sales team, fostering a high-performance culture
- Set and monitor sales targets, KPIs and revenue objectives
- Develop and maintain strategic customer and business relationships
- Identify new business opportunities and drive revenue growth
- Oversee pipeline management, sales forecasting and CRM activity
- Analyse sales performance, market trends and commercial opportunities to inform decision-making
- Establish and continuously improve sales methodologies, processes and reporting
- Provide regular commercial updates and performance insights to senior leadership
- Contribute to the development of the company’s long-term commercial strategy
