The Sales Director is responsible for cultivating a respectful workplace, developing and maintaining the marketing plan and sales budget with the General Manager, and developing market segment strategies to prospect business for the hotel. This role also involves providing sales training, participating in revenue management calls, scheduling and completing sales appointments, and attending business and civic events. The Sales Director ensures teamwork and cooperation between departments, creates an effective sales team through training and mentoring, and assists in rate and inventory strategy. Additionally, this position acts as Manager on Duty, handling various issues, and is responsible for interviewing, selecting, training, developing, and appraising staff. The role involves negotiating hotel rates for LNR accounts, securing group business, working with the operations team for group events, assisting guests with meeting plans, and coordinating with kitchen staff for catered events. Maintaining sales files, organizing the work week for prospecting, facilitating inside sales leads, and adhering to company policies are also key responsibilities. The Sales Director ensures fair treatment and respect of employees and guests and performs other duties as assigned.
