About The Position

The Sales Director will own new-business and subscription growth for the Kroll StepStone Private Credit Benchmarks, an independent private-credit dataset featuring deal comparables and indicators such as PIK analytics. This is a subscription-based data-product sales role focused on differentiated data and analytics for sophisticated institutional buyers. The role sells recurring access to the benchmarks to data, research, portfolio-management, risk and valuation functions at general partners, limited partners, private credit managers, banks and asset managers. The Sales Director manages the full subscription sales cycle, from prospecting and trials through negotiation, close, renewal and expansion, while working with product marketing and the data team on demonstrations, trials, packaging, product feedback and pricing.

Requirements

  • Track record selling subscription-based financial data, analytics, index or benchmark products, such as at MSCI, Bloomberg, PitchBook, Preqin, Octus or a comparable data provider.
  • Demonstrated ability to carry and meet a quota selling recurring data or analytics products rather than one-off services.
  • Fluency in private markets and ideally private credit, with the ability to speak credibly about how data is used in pricing, benchmarking and risk.
  • Comfort selling to institutional buyers across data, research, risk and investment functions.
  • Consultative, credibility-first selling style, with disciplined pipeline management, forecasting and CRM use.

  • Articulate the value of independent, timely, deal-level market data and its use cases, including pricing, benchmarking, portfolio monitoring and market surveillance.
  • Run the full subscription sales cycle, including prospecting, trials and evaluations, commercial negotiation, closing, renewals and account expansion.
  • Partner with product marketing and the data team to shape demonstrations, trials and packaging, and provide market and competitive intelligence to inform the product roadmap and pricing.
  • Manage the sales pipeline and forecasts with discipline in Salesforce CRM.
