Future Opportunities: Sales Director, Commercial Sales

Element Fleet Management
•$75,000 - $137,500•Remote

About The Position

This is an evergreen position intended to build a pipeline of qualified candidates for anticipated future openings. While we may not have an immediate vacancy today, we regularly hire for this role and encourage interested candidates to apply so we can connect as opportunities become available. Element sits at the intersection of fleet, capital, technology, and operations. We manage some of the world's largest and most complex commercial fleets and have longstanding relationships with many of the companies that keep the economy moving. We are looking for a Sales Director who loves to hunt, knows how to earn credibility with senior executives and can turn complex operational and financial problems into compelling commercial solutions. This is not a role for someone waiting for leads. You will be responsible for creating opportunities, winning major new clients, and generating profitable growth for Element. You will have the credibility, scale, expertise and capabilities of a global market leader behind you — but the expectation is straightforward: Build pipeline. Win business. Create value for clients. Grow Element.

Requirements

  • Genuinely enjoy hunting. You do not wait for someone else to create your pipeline.
  • Curious about how businesses actually work. Before selling anything, you want to understand the client's economics, operations and underlying problem.
  • Can open doors. You are comfortable creating relationships with senior executives who do not yet know you.
  • A record of winning. You have consistently exceeded meaningful sales targets and can explain exactly how you created and closed your biggest opportunities.
  • Like complex sales. Multiple stakeholders, sophisticated procurement, financial analysis, long sales cycles and tough negotiations energize rather than frustrate you.
  • Commercial judgment. You understand that the best answer is not always the standard answer and can structure solutions that work for both the client and Element.
  • Take accountability personally. You know your pipeline, conversion rates, forecast and number — and you do not need somebody else to tell you when performance is off track.
  • Want to work with strong people. You expect a lot from yourself and like being surrounded by colleagues who do the same.
  • What you were accountable for
  • How you performed against target
  • Your most significant wins
  • How you created those opportunities
  • Who you had to influence
  • Whom you competed against
  • Why the customer ultimately chose you.
  • Experience in fleet management is valuable, but it is not a prerequisite. Outstanding candidates may come from mobility, payments, financial services, enterprise technology, logistics, transportation, asset finance, industrial services or other complex B2B markets.

  • Executive relationships across Finance, Treasury, Procurement, Operations, Fleet and other relevant functions.
  • Understanding a prospect's fleet economics and operating model deeply enough to identify where Element can create measurable value.
  • Bringing together Element's financing, fleet management, services, technology, data, payments and mobility capabilities into solutions tailored to the client's business problem.
  • Deal strategy, commercial structuring, pricing and negotiation.
  • Accurate forecasting, disciplined pipeline management and clear accountability for results.
