About The Position

The Keyholder must be a community advocate for our organization, our residents, and those in need of our services. As the Keyholder, the position serves to assist in the facilitation of day-to-day operations of Hillcrest Thrift store. This position provides leadership through the facilitation of keyholder and cashier support, and customer service.

Requirements

  • A high school diploma or equivalent.
  • Ability to process information and merchandise through computer system and POS register system.
  • Ability to communicate with employees, customers, and donors.
  • Ability to read, count, and write to accurately complete all documentation.
  • Ability to operate and use all equipment necessary to run the store.
  • Ability to work varied hours/days and be reliable.
  • Knowledge of industry, human resources laws and regulations, and employee relations skills.
  • Ability to complete work in a timely, accurate, confidential and thorough manner and to be conscientious about assignments.
  • Effective verbal and written communication skills with superiors, colleagues, and individuals inside and outside the Company.
  • Ability to exhibit a professional manner in dealing with others and works to maintain constructive working relationships.
  • Strong attention to detail and experience balancing ongoing projects with one-time requests.
  • Comfortable in networking and public speaking.
  • Familiarity with POS, Windows, Office, Google Drive, Gmail, Facebook, Instagram, Twitter
  • Ability to travel to Hillcrest sites throughout the Kansas City metro area.
  • Consent to pre-employment criminal background check and drug screen.

Responsibilities

  • The Key Holder is responsible for closing (and opening as needed) the Thrift Store, Monday through Saturday, as set forth by our retail operations guidelines.
  • Serve as a representative of Hillcrest at community events.
  • Closing and opening the store, as needed.
  • Adhere to Hillcrest employee handbook and retail policies and engage customers, volunteers, staff, and donors with values that reflect our organization.
  • Responsible for accurate and timely register reconciliation and money handling.
  • Manage the stores security system, enabling it and disabling it when necessary.
  • Attending to customer requests or inquiries in the store.
  • Operating point of sale system.
  • Sorting, hanging, and pricing clothing.
  • Putting away wares and clothing as needed.
  • Making sure that the store is always clean and properly organized.
  • Filling in for the store manager when required.
  • Follow closing checklist.
  • Follow company policies and procedures.
