Sales Development Representative

Atlas RFID•Birmingham, AL

About The Position

We are looking for a motivated, coachable, part-time SDR to help build qualified sales pipeline, serve as the first point of qualification for inbound prospects, and support transactional customers while learning the fundamentals of consultative sales. This role is the front line of our Sales Team's pipeline. You'll run structured outbound calling and emailing to book meetings for our Account Managers, qualify and route inbound calls and chats, and own the day-to-day for transactional customers who don't have a dedicated Account Manager. This is a part-time, in-office, desk-based internship in Birmingham, Alabama. It's an opportunity to start a career: strong performers are the pipeline for future full-time Account Manager roles at Atlas RFID.

Requirements

  • People with an interest in sales, business, or building a career in a customer-facing role.
  • Ability to work a consistent 20-30 hour weekly schedule in our Birmingham office.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Comfortable making outbound phone calls and engaging directly with customers.
  • Ability to stay organized, follow a defined process, and manage multiple conversations and follow-ups at once.
  • No prior sales experience required - we care more about capability, coachability, and the willingness to learn.

Nice To Haves

  • You're competitive, coachable, and motivated by results.
  • You're comfortable picking up the phone, asking questions, and following a structured process, and you want real sales experience, not busywork.
  • You're proactive and don't wait to be told what to do next.
  • You communicate clearly and confidently on the phone and in chat.
  • You're organized enough to manage a queue of calls, chats, and follow-ups without dropping anything.
  • You follow a process closely, and you know when a situation needs to go to someone with more experience.
  • You're curious about a sales career and want to learn how a real Account Manager pipeline works.

Responsibilities

  • Run outbound calls and email programs against target lists to create new opportunities Account Managers can turn into long-term business.
  • Qualify interest and book intro calls directly onto Account Manager calendars.
  • Track outbound activity and conversion in HubSpot to prove out the pipeline as it expands.
  • Own first-touch inbound phone and chat conversations before they reach an Account Manager, asking sharp qualifying questions and taking clear notes along the way.
  • Qualify inbound prospects on Motive and basic Means, per our Lead Qualification Framework, and log findings into HubSpot so the Account Manager does not have to ask the customer to repeat information.
  • Send existing accounts directly to their Account Manager; if the AM is unavailable, capture a complete message so nothing is lost in the handoff.
  • Ensure lead information is captured and assigned appropriately in HubSpot.
  • Support defined sales workflows and administrative tasks that allow Account Managers to remain focused on higher-value selling activity.
  • Own day-to-day service for transactional customers who do not require a dedicated Account Manager, while identifying and escalating accounts that show potential for broader sales opportunities.

Benefits

  • $18/hour, plus commission opportunity.
  • 20-30 hours per week, with a fixed weekly schedule set around your schedule.
  • Direct mentorship and reporting relationship with the VP, Business Development.
  • A genuine, structured path to a future full-time Account Manager role.
  • Hands-on experience across a real sales tech stack: HubSpot, Aircall, and Front.
