About The Position

Upgrade is building out its sales team for its home improvement financing business and is looking for an SDR to help build that pipeline from the ground up. The role focuses on getting home improvement contractors and merchants interested in offering consumer financing through Upgrade. This is a ground-floor role with a clear path forward, where performing SDRs can move into Account Executive roles as the team grows. The SDR will help shape how the company prospects, who they target, and how they build this business. This role offers ownership early in a sales career, backed by an established fintech company.

Requirements

  • Comfort with outbound prospecting; not put off by cold calling and understanding that volume and consistency drive results.
  • A desire to do more than hit a number; wanting to contribute to how the team sells, not just execute a script.
  • Strong communication skills, including the ability to build rapport quickly, ask good questions, and clearly explain why someone should take a meeting.
  • Adaptability to changing circumstances in an early-stage team.
  • A collaborative approach, with the ability to work closely with AEs and Customer Success, share information, and stay aligned across the team.
  • English proficiency is required for interacting with staff worldwide.

Responsibilities

  • Run outbound prospecting, including cold calling, emailing, and sequencing across multiple channels to book demos with home improvement contractors and merchants.
  • Qualify prospects by asking the right questions to understand fit and sharing relevant product context before handing off to Sales.
  • Build target lists with the team, working with Sales and Customer Success to research accounts, develop outreach strategies, and keep the pipeline moving.
  • Help establish the habits and norms that define this team's culture as the team grows.
