About The Position

As a Union - Sales Counter Associate, you will sell merchandise to customers over the counter, provide excellent customer service, facilitate sales, and use your knowledge of the products sold. You will help customers select products that meet their needs, process sales and payments, replenish and monitor merchandise, and maintain cash and shipping-ticket records.

Requirements

• High school degree or equivalent.
• One year of experience in warehouse work, counter sales, or as a customer service representative.
• Ability to evaluate products in terms of customer needs and know how to apply products.
• Strong customer service skills.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Basic computer skills, including Word, Excel, and Internet use.

Responsibilities

• Suggest selections that meet customers’ needs and emphasize the quality and utility of products.
• Prepare sales slips.
• Receive payment or obtain credit authorization.
• Place new merchandise on display.
• Review and maintain counter inventory levels.
• Recommend new stock items by completing the necessary forms.
• Maintain the security of the cash drawer and shipping ticket audit copies.
