About The Position

Armed Forces Insurance (AFI) is seeking a savvy sales professional who excels in building relationships and communicating with others to join their New Member Sales Team. As an insurance industry-leading company expanding its operations, AFI needs an eager personal lines insurance professional with an analytical mindset and effective communication skills. The role involves expanding the company's book of business by selling various types of Property and Casualty Insurance policies to new clients. AFI, established in 1887, protects active, retired, and former military personnel, their families, and civilian Department of Defense and Veterans Administration employees by providing home, renter, and auto insurance. Requirements

  • At least 4 years of direct customer service or relevant experience
  • Associate's Degree or BA/BS Degree may be substituted for experience
  • Keyboard skills of at least 35 wpm
  • Competent written communications skills
  • Excellent verbal communications skills, to include a courteous, confident demeanor and appropriate use of grammar and vocabulary
  • Working knowledge of MS Outlook, Excel and Word
  • Demonstrates sound judgment and decision-making skills
  • Ability to accomplish work according to established priorities and procedures
  • Ability to obtain a domicile state agent’s license, as well as non-resident licenses for all other states, within 90 days in the position, and to maintain unrestricted licensure thereafter
  • Previously passed the “Property & Casualty and Allied Lines Producer” Licensing Exam in Kansas or have completed an equivalent licensing exam in another state that meets AFI’s appointment requirements and have an active license
